The Mountain Goats

John Darnielle's long running band The Mountain Goats released a new album of bedroom recordings this morning, the cassette pre-order of which disappeared from the Bandcamp link when i tried to click on it.  And now the Merge Records site is crashing.  So...i guess it's pretty hot item.  Anyway, i love theses types of lo-fi recording.  Listen to "The Wooded Hills Along the Black Sea" below and download the "Songs for Pierre Chuvin" album here.

The Mountain Goats - Andrew Eldritch Is Moving Back to Leeds

So, The Mountain Goats have a new album coming out in May on Merge called "Goths."  Fittingly enough, the record is going to be a concept album of sorts all about goths and will feature no guitars.  If the first single, "Andrew Eldritch Is Moving Back to Leeds" is any indication, this record is going to be amazing.  Listen below.

The Mountain Goats - The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All the Other Jedi and Eats Their Bones

If the internet is to be believed, The Mountain Goats' John Darnielle has been trying to convince "Star Wars: Episode VIII" director Rian Johnson to subtitle the film "The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All the Other Jedi and Eats Their Bones."  That would have been amazing.  At any rate, the director encouraged the artist to write a song about it, and he did.  Listen to the song below.  According to Johnson, it is now canon.
