Amsterdam based Turkish psychedelic band Altin Gün are back in January with their 6th album "Garip."  These guys have been going at it for a while now and always bring a wonderful mix of psych, funk, and Anatolian rock for our listening pleasure.  Dig on new tune "Neredesin Sen" below and pre-order the LP here from ATO.

The Netherlands' funky, disco-tinged, world psych rock band Altin Gün are back at it again with a brand new album called "Âlem."  The album is only available on Bandcamp, and all of the proceeds go to the nature protection organization Earth Today.  Stream the whole thing below, shake your butt a little bit, and then purchase here for a good cause.

Right before i shut down the computer yesterday to eat, drink, and be something, i got wind of a new single from the always delightful Altin Gün.  Last year, the Amsterdam band was responsible for one of my favorite albums.  And they look like they're keeping to it this time around even with some new sounds.  Dig on that funky Turkish psychedelic disco boogie.  It's smooth as hell on "Ordunun Dereleri."  Check the single out below and get the 7" here via ATO.

I generally spend my lunch break on Fridays over at Waterloo Records checking out new releases, sifting through the used LPs, and then inevitably leaving with a stack of vinyl in tow.  Yesterday, on a whim, a purchased the "Gece" LP from Dutch band Altin Gün.  The 6-piece act utilizes elements of world pop, funk, disco, psych rock, prog, and folk to sound like some kind of long lost underground Turkish band that record collectors in the know scour the ends of the earth for.  It sounds of the past, but is so electrifying in its fusion of groove, that it's really hard to ignore, or at the very least to tap a foot to.  Anyway, this is the best Turkish psych-funk-folk record made by a band from Netherlands that i've ever heard.  Check out the album closing "Süpürgesi Yoncadan" below and order the record here via ATO.
