Ana Roxanne

Here's a longing new track from ambient and electronic artist Ana Roxanne.  Piano ballad "Keepsake" is a stark and yearning piece comprised of piano, voice, and just the right amount of ambient microphone hiss.  Check it out below and pre-order the upcoming "Poem 1" LP here from Kranky.

In general these days, Fridays can be long and hard for me, splitting my work time between the office and home while also steeped in the new domestic norms of in-home schooling and afternoon grocery store visits.  Combined with state of things and the ever present threat of panic attack, by 6PM, when i finally get to unplug, i'm sometimes a frazzled, exhausted mess.  And so, i was very much pleased to discover "Because of a Flower," the upcoming release from minimalist LA artist Ana Roxanne.  Listening to the hushed and gentle melody of "Suite pour l'invisible" eased my nerves and calmed my soul even if just for its 7-minute runtime.  Check it out below, and pre-order the record here from Kranky.

At home with one sick child and another one who's wild and crazy and trying to find a happy balance between the two.  It's not working.  So, here's some meditative and minimalist music from LA artist Ana Roxanne, her new album "~~~" being a mix of sparse electronics, haunting, beautiful vocals, and a kind of new age, devotional spiritualism.  Listen to the "Nocturne" below and get the cassette or download here via Leaving Records.
