Daily Jam - Cherry-Coloured Funk

Another long Friday at work (i've seriously got to stop doing that), so it's time to wind down with some dreamy melodies from the Cocteau Twins.  Listen to "Cherry-Coloured Funk" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Memory Gongs

Here is some beautiful ambient dreampop and shoegaze from Harold Budd and Cocteau Twins from the 1986 album "The Moon and the Melodies."  I remember picking this LP up on a whim from a used book and record store back when i was 18 based on the cover art alone.  Listen to "Memory Gongs" below, our Daily Jam.

Robin Guthrie

You gotta love that Cocteau Twins' Robin Guthrie is still making dreamy, beautiful, ethereal music all these years later.  The Scottish artist's latest release is the "Astoria" EP which dropped earlier this week.  Check out the blissful "Smoulder" below and get the album here.

In solidarity with the orcas attacking the rudders on a bunch of ships of the Strait of Gibraltar, let's float around with some Cocteau Twins for a bit.  Here's "Whales Tails," our Daily Jam.

Echo Ladies - Overrated (Robin Guthrie Version)

Shoegazey Swedish band Echo Ladies already released a stellar album this year with the summer's "Pink Noise" LP, and now their back with new 7".  The A-Side is a track from the album, "Overrated," but reworked this time around by Cocteau Twins' Robin Guthrie, and the B-Side is a cover of Bowie's "Rebel Rebel."  Listen to "Overrated" below and grab the record here from Sonic Cathedral before they're all gone.

Sonic Advent Calendar: Day 15 - Frosty the Snowman

Looking for Christmas songs to post without repeating anything i may have done in years past, i occasionally come across something i had no idea existed.  Why did no one tell me that Cocteau Twins did a version of "Frosty the Snowman" in the early 90's?  Why am i only finding out now?  Anyway, it's wonderful, and you should listen below.
