Olivia Neutron-John

I remember seeing the (admittedly wonderful) name Olivia Neutron-John all around Austin during SXSW last March, but for whatever reason never caught a performance.  And then i kind of forgot about her until seeing that she's opening for Boy Harsher on their current tour.  Cool.  Anyway, the Washington DC area artist blends subdued post punk with lo-fi cold wave that sounds like it came out of East Berlin 40 years ago.  Listen to "March" below and grab the self-titled record here from Sister Polygon.

Priests

April brings us new music from DC punk band Priests, and if the title track of the upcoming "The Seduction of Kansas" is any indication, these guys and girls are growing in all kinds of different directions.  Notes of cowpunk and post punk abound on the new single, all tied together with an avant garde groove.  More like this please.  Listen below and be on the lookout for a pre-order soon from Sister Polygon Records.

I don't know why i've slept on these guys for so long, but after catching a live set from DC post(ish) punk band Priests, i'm all in now.  New album "Nothing Feels Natural" is out now on Sister Polygon Records, but in the meantime, listen to the title track below.
