Small Black - Moon Killer Mixtape
Small Black's 2011 mixtape "Moon Killer," a groovy, chilled out synth classic with assists from Das Racist's Heems, is finally getting a physical release courtesy of 100% Electronica. Small Black
Feeling like i'm getting all lost in the chilled and synthetic sounds of a decade ago, what with unearthed music from Com Truise and new music from Small Black filling up my ear holes this morning. The latest from the latter, "Tampa," feels like laying in the sun, eyes closed, gentle breeze blowing off the water nearby. Check it out below and pre-order the 7" here from 100% Electronica.

Small Black - Boys Life
Here's a new airy, dreamy synth number from Small Black. "Boys Life" comes from the band's upcoming album "Best Blues," out in October on Jagjaguwar, and it's a beautiful, little late summer jam. Listen below.

Small Black
Synth pop act Small Black return in April with new EP "Real People" on Jagjaguwar. "Lines of Latitude" is the first taste from said EP, and it's a smooth and sexy R&B jam featuring a guest vocal assist from Frankie Rose. Good stuff. Listen below.

Small Black - No Stranger
Here's another new track from Brooklyn's Small Black's new album "Limits of Desire." The new record sees the band abandoning a lot of the "chill wave" vibes they started out with in favor of a more 80's influenced, synth pop sound. Listen to "No Stranger" below and dig on the New Order/John Hughes movie goodness. It's pretty. "Limits of Desire" is due out next week from Jagjaguwar.

Small Black
It's been awhile since we last heard from Brooklyn's Small Black, 2011's "Moon Killer" mixtape to be exact. The layers of warm synths still dominate the guys' sound, but ultimately, it's a lovely and inviting thing, reminding me of a blissed out version of an early U2 record (before they became unbearable). New album "Limits of Desire" is due from Jagjaguwar in May, but take a listen to first single "Free at Dawn" below.
