Someday, i will try to make it to the annual nerd clusterfuck that is San Diego Comic Con, but until then, i'll just have to get my jollys watching all the trailers as they eek out on to Youtube like everyone else. And lo and behold, one of my favorite things last year, Stranger Things, gets a great looking peek at the upcoming season 2. Say what you will about the first season (there certainly is a lot to critique), but i still loved it. And i'm psyched for the continuing story of the denizens of Hawkins. Watch it below and nerd out with me.

The Bob's Burgers Music Album
God bless the folks over at Sub Pop. In May, the label is set to release a 3LP set of all the music from the wonderful animated TV show "Bob's Burgers." Easily one of the funniest series out there, music has always been a very important part of the show, quirky and humorous songs woven into every episode. The set will include 107 songs from the first 6 seasons, as well as a handful of cover versions performed by the likes of St. Vincent, The National, and Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields. Listen to "Bad Stuff Happens in the Bathroom" below and pre-order here (check out the deluxe version).

Westworld covers
I've been digging on HBO's new series "Westworld," a reimagining of the original Michael Creighton film from the 70's. Like most HBO fare, there's plenty of sex and violence to go around, and some pretty good performances too. One of the highlights though, has to be the cover songs that are making their way into the show courtesy of soundtrack composer Ramin Djawadi. Orchestral takes on The Rolling Stones and Nine Inch Nails, and old timey player piano versions of Radiohead, The Cure, and Soundgarden. The latter of those is pretty fun. Take a listen to "Black Hole Sun" below and get the tracks from Water Tower Music.

Stranger Things
I had no idea the upcoming Netflix show "Stranger Things" even existed until this afternoon when i saw the trailer. And i have to say it look absolutely amazing, like something that was made with me in mind. I'm also truly digging on the 70's/80's Spielberg-ian vibe of the whole thing. July 15th cannot get here soon enough. Watch the trailer below.

Twin Peaks to return in 2016
All the teases were true. Laura Palmer wasn't bullshitting us when she said she'd see us again in 25 years. David Lynch and company are bringing back beloved cult TV show "Twin Peaks" back in 2016, 25 years after the finale, to Showtime for nine episodes. A million fanboys' heads just exploded. Watch the teaser below.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I gotta love it when something makes my inner nerd excited, and the promo that was released yesterday for the upcoming "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." on ABC got me wiggling. Joss Whedon is on board, as is Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), and one can only assume that any number of Whedon players could possibly show up as the show progresses. It will be interesting to see how a TV show moves and shakes throughout a universe that takes place on the big screen. Watch below.
