Daily Jam - Sunshower
I was never really able to get into any of Chris Cornell's stuff outside of Soundgarden, either solo or with other bands. That stuff just never hit me the same way, except for "Sunshower." I always loved "Sunshower." So let's listen below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Jesus Christ Pose
This one popped into my head this morning. Not an easy one to sing in the shower. Listen to Soundgarden and "Jesus Christ Pose" below, our Daily Jam.

3rd Secret
I've got to admit that i wasn't expecting to hear music from a Seattle grunge supergroup this week, but here we are. The band is 3rd Secret, and it boasts a lineup of Krist Novoselic (Nirvana), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), and Matt Cameron (Soundgarden / Pearl Jam), which is then rounded out by Bubba Dupree (Void), Jennifer Johnson, and Jillian Raye. The self-titled album pulls from Zeppelin, blues, grunge, and folk, and in some ways feels like a time capsule, but a good one. Check out "I Choose Me" below and download the album here.

Daily Jam - Pretty Noose
If pressed, i'd have a hard time saying what my favorite Soundgarden song is. It's probably one of the deeper cuts on "Superunknown," but "Pretty Noose" would give anything a run for its money. So let's listen to it below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - 4th of July
My Washington trip comes to a close later today, with a scenic drive back to the Puget Sound and flight back that puts me in Austin at the crack ass of dawn tomorrow. Finishing up the "big 4" is Soundgarden, and the absolutely dread and doom soaked "4th of July." Love you Washington. Some day we'll be together again.

RIP Chris Cornell
I hate waking up to news like this. Soundgarden's Chris Cornell passed away last night at the age of 52. There are no confirmed reports of cause of death yet, but regardless, it sucks. I always wanted to emulate his singing style, hitting those unbelievable high notes, but alas, i failed every time. Listen to "Head Down" below, one of my all time favorites. RIP Chris Cornell.

Westworld covers
I've been digging on HBO's new series "Westworld," a reimagining of the original Michael Creighton film from the 70's. Like most HBO fare, there's plenty of sex and violence to go around, and some pretty good performances too. One of the highlights though, has to be the cover songs that are making their way into the show courtesy of soundtrack composer Ramin Djawadi. Orchestral takes on The Rolling Stones and Nine Inch Nails, and old timey player piano versions of Radiohead, The Cure, and Soundgarden. The latter of those is pretty fun. Take a listen to "Black Hole Sun" below and get the tracks from Water Tower Music.
