The Men

Man, Sacred Bones has a whole slate of good stuff coming our way in the next couple of months.  The latest from New York band The Men, "Mercy," finds the group wading in a kind of post-punk, garage rock tinged '80s rock sound.  Listen to "Children All Over the World" below and pre-order ther record here.

Warthog

Chris Hansell, a former member of New York band The Men now fronts the punk band Warthog, whose particular brand of scuzzy and abrasive punk metal is just what the doctor ordered for this cold and rainy morning here in Central Texas.  Listen to the crunchy "Corroded" below, which begins with the opening drums for 20th Century Fox, and get the self-titled 7" here from Static Shock.

The Men - Maybe I'm Crazy

March is bringing us a new album from ever-evolving New York band The Men.  Listen to the mutated dance punk of "Maybe I'm Crazy" below and grab the upcoming "Drift" LP from the always dependable Sacred Bones on 3/2.

Uniform

Uniform is the New York duo of Ben Greenberg (formerly of The Men) and Michael Berdan (formerly of Drunkdriver), a blistering combination of punk bombast and industrial shrieking.  "Ghosthouse" comes from the upcoming 12" of the same name, and it's a bleak and noisy mess, the perfect match for election season.  Listen below and grab the record from Sacred Bones.

Dream Police

Dream Police is the side project from The Men's Mark Perro and Nick Chiericozzi.  The Brooklyn band kill it with fuzzed-out boogie anthems, butt-shakers and heart-breakers, guitars shredding through steady drum machine beats and hazy smoke and fumes.  Look for the "Hypnotized" LP in November from Sacred Bones and listen to the title track below.

Fun Fun Fun Fest 8: Day 3 pics

And all good things must come to an end...which is good because i was out of money and my body was starting to reject the steady diet of Shiner beer and junk food.  Highlights of the day include reaffirmation that The Polyphonic Spree will always put me in a good mood, listening to the Mortal Kombat theme song whilst watching tacos being blasted out of a cannon, seeing the kids from Unlocking the Truth with their mom eating Twinkies, The Men, and Gojira.

The lowlight of the day was the sound issues that prevented Killer Mike from being able to perform, though he tried his damndest.
