Daily Jam - Twelve Thirty (Young Girls Are Coming to the Canyon)

I've always had a soft spot for The Mamas & The Papas, their '60s sunshine folk putting a peace and love kind of sheen atop something a little darker beneath the surface.  Maybe it's because the four of them were a complete fucking mess.  Anyway, here's "Twelve Thirty (Young Girls Are Coming to the Canyon)," a song that will now be in my (and maybe your) head all day now, our Daily Jam.

Corridor w/ Halo Maud

We caught the poppy, jangly Montreal band Corridor today at SXSW in a small and much more crowded room than i would have ever expected, but the 4-piece certainly deserved all of the eyes and ears upon them.  Check out a single they did last December featuring Halo Maud on lead vocals, the pysch-tinged "Deux Coeurs," and download it here.

Cut Worms

Brooklyn's Cut Worms make music that sounds like i should be listening to it outside, sitting on a patio chair, hot and sweaty from mowing the lawn, and beer in hand.  A mix of '60s sunshine harmonies, psychedelic pop, and country-tinged Americana, it hits just right on a warm day.  Listen to "Don't Want to Say Good-bye" below and grab new album "Hollow Ground" in May from Jagjaguwar.

Found Vinyl: Euphoria - Euphoria

Euphoria were a short lived sunshine pop and folk group from the late 60's/early 70's.  Their lone self-titled album from 1969 at times feels like the early AM gold, sun-drenched Americana with a sing-a-long vibe.  They sound like driving in a convertible on a road trip across country with friends...or strangers.  It sounds like hitchhiking before it was dangerous, or smoking the good weed.  Listen to "Tucson" below.
