French electronic duo Principles of Geometry put out what was probably my favorite album of 2008 with their "Lazare" LP (it actually came out late 2007, but didn't make it my way for a few months after that). A cool mix of IDM and synth wave (before synth wave was really a thing), the album at times feels like some lost Boards of Canada record or unused horror score. And it's a winner from start to finish. Listen to "Napoleon" below, featuring Cannibal Ox's Vast Aire on vocals and a dialog sample from John Carpenter's "Assault on Precinct 13" to open things up.
