Here's a little warped, mutant, bedroom pop from Montreal band Crying High. "Hold Yr Terror Close" sounds like lo-fi disco recorded underwater and then broadcast from the cosmos. Listen below and get the "♬" cassette here via Arbutus, or buy a pipe from the band. Your call.

Sorry Girls
I guess i'm just kind of going back through a lot of the artists i dug on during SXSW to see if there's anything new...and there is! Or at least, stuff i somehow missed when looking into all of these guys and girls before the fest. Anyway, the dreampop sounds of Montreal band Sorry Girls provided the right chilled and wistful vibes for a day at the festival, and last November they released their "Easier" 7". Listen to the synthy, airy title track below and get the record here from Arbutus.

TOPS
Montreal synth-pop band TOPS have been kicking it around for awhile, and their latest single from their upcoming "Picture of You Staring" LP has been burning through my brain of late. "Outside" is a smooth and flowing piece of sultry pop that sounds like score to an 80's movie love scene. It's nice. Listen below and grab the album in a couple of weeks from Arbutus.

Doldrums
Here's some new, warped digital-pop from Montreal's Doldrums. "Anomaly" comes from the upcoming "Lesser Evil" LP due at the end of February from Arbutus. The record was allegedly recorded on a laptop borrowed from fellow Canadian weirdo Grimes. Listen below.
