Daily Jam - Eddy

I'm tired as hell today.  Here's some noise from Boss Hog.  Chug along to "Eddy" below, our Daily Jam.

Jon Spencer

It's insane to me that it's 2018, and we're just now finally getting the first official solo release from Jon Spencer.  The man has been blasting our ears with his particular brand of scuzzy rock n' blues n' fusion for decades via Pussy Galore, Blues Explosion, and more, so i guess it was going to happen eventually.  And so we get "Spencer Sings the Hits," a trip into the fuzzy shakin' groove the artist so easily employs.  Listen to "I Got the Hits" below and get the record here from In The Red.

Boss Hog

Dude, we've got some new music from Boss Hog on the way, the old project from super-cool married couple Jon Spencer and Cristina Martinez.  That's excellent news, as it's been over 15 years.  Head over to Pitchfork to listen to "Wichita Grey," and be on the lookout for the "Brood Star" EP from In the Red.

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion

Somehow i failed to notice that we had a new album from The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion descend upon us last week.  "Freedom Tower" continues the band's awesome and funky fusion of hip-hop, soul, punk, funk, and rockabilly madness, donning the theme of "No Wave Dance Party 2015," an ode to all things New York City.  From the ugly and dingy streets to the shiny pristine towers, the album is a loving homage to a long dead, but somehow still thriving scene.  Get the record from Mom + Pop or from the band, and watch the excellent video for "Do the Get Down" below.
