Amar Lal

Experimental artist Amar Lal released a short new album today entitled "Lest We Forget."  The compositions therein use field recordings, ambient sounds, clips of news reports, and more straight forward melodies to explore the feelings and tensions around the summer of 2020 following the murder of George Floyd.  It's heavy stuff to be sure.  Check out the achingly, hauntingly beautiful "Elegy" below and get the album here from Never Content.

There Are No Thieves in This Town

It's cold and it's wet and our power keeps going out, so i'm getting this in real quick before taking the 3-year old to daycare.  Brooklyn artist There Are No Thieves in This Town is set to release new album "All the Luck in the World" in a few days on Never Content, with a cassette release to follow in January.  Check out the droney, shoegazey, dreamy, folky "Dropt Not Down" below, and pre-order the album here.
