DARKSIDE

Nicolas Jaar's and Dave Harrington's electronic project DARKSIDE are back in February with new album "Nothing."  The duo have never made straightforward electronic music, and the new album feels no different with new single "S.N.C." grooving on elements of krautrock, disco, and some good, old-fashioned improvisation.  Give it a listen below and pre-order the LP here from Matador.

Dave Harrington

Dave Harrington is one half of electronic duo Darkside (the other being Nicolas Jaar), and his first solo outing, the "Before This There Was One Heart but a Thousand Thoughts" EP comes out this week on Jaar's Other People label.  The album weaves melody, psych experimentation, and ambience in a sparse, but pulsing soup that feels like wandering lost through some synthetic desert landscape.  Listen to the A-side "One-All // A Thousand Times // Multiple and Mirror" below.

Visuals

Here's some music from Berlin's Visuals to soundtrack your chemically flavored weekend (or mine at least).  Cold beats and warm synths moving sluggishly and druggishly along into an eternal sunset.  "Slowed Down" was produced by Darkside and comes from the self-titled EP from Nicolas Jaar's Other People Records.  Listen below.

Darkside

Following their excellent reworking/re-imagining of Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" earlier this summer, electronic duo Darkside (Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington) are back with a new album of original material in October called "Psychic."  Bits of static and computer fuzz give way to a trance-like beat and pulsing bass and synth tones, ending in a crescendo of warped vocals on album opener "Golden Arrow."  Get hypnotized with the video below and keep an eye out for the album on Matador.
