I was fortunate enough to see Mike Patton/Dave Lombardo supergroup Dead Cross last night, and made sure to get there early enough to catch Secret Chiefs 3 as well...and...they melted my damn brain. I'm only familiar with some of their music, but seeing them live was something else entirely, only made more so by their proggy cover of John Carpenter's theme from "Halloween." Color me smitten. I going to have to deep dive into the band's catalog wholesale. Anyway, the song appears on the 2013 album "Book of Souls: Folio A," which you can get from Web of Mimicry, and you should definitely watch the video below.
I have always loved the song "Telstar," a little piece of pop culture that will always remind me of my dad. There have been several versions of the track recorded by a number of artists throughout the years, and now we get one from long-running experimental band Secret Chiefs 3. Listen below, and download it and another new jam here from Web of Mimicry. The band should have some new music out next year. Hooray!
