Sorrow

Sorrow was a UK neo-folk group that released two albums in the '90s and then faded into obscurity.  But the good folks at Night School have taken it on themselves to reissue the band's 1999 swan song "Sleep Now Forever," and we're all the better for it. Twilight melodies and elegiac moods abound.  Check out "Soldier" below and get the reissued LP here.

Daily Jam - Where Do I Go

I recently discovered the neo-folk synth sounds of underground artist Happy Rhodes thanks to a wonderful cover by Marissa Nadler and the efforts of the Numero Group record label painstakingly seeking, remastering, and re-releasing the artist's sonic artifacts.  Check out the lo-fi and dreamy 1986 track "Where Do I Go" below, our Daily Jam.  And be sure to check out her other stuff too.  It's a veritable treasure trove of lost pop.

Meg Baird and Mary Lattimore

Meg Baird and Mary Lattimore are certainly neo-folk artists to be reckoned with on their own, but now the two longtime friends are collaborating on a new album (their first together) called "Ghost Forests."  Aptly titled, the record looks to be a collection of haunted and mysterious Americana.  Listen to the entrancing "Painter of Tygers" below and pre-order the record here from Three Lobed Recordings.
