BIG|BRAVE
Montreal band BIG|BRAVE make a mix of metal and Americana that is uniquely their own. On new album "OST," the trio drops all of that for something much more improvisational and avant garde. The whole thing plays out like some kind of minimalist film score that's both foreboding and surreal. Listen to "innominate NÂș ii" below and pre-order the upcoming LP here from Thrill Jockey.

BIG|BRAVE
The hard-to-pin-down Montreal trio BIG|BRAVE had a banner year in 2021, releasing an excellent album of heavy post-metal and a equally excellent collaboration with fellow noise making duo The Body. And now they've got a new album heading our way early next year. Check out the doom-laden "Carvers, Farriers and Knaves" below and pre-order the "Nature Morte" LP here from Thrill Jockey.

The Body and BIG|BRAVE
Experimental metal bands The Body and BIG|BRAVE have paired together for the forthcoming collaborative effort, "Leaving None But Small Birds." Our first listen is kind of dusty, grungey alt-rock crawl of "Oh Sinner." Check it out below and pre-order the album here from Thrill Jockey.

BIG|BRAVE
A lot of the times when i'm sifting through albums on Bandcamp, i'll see a name or a piece of album cover art and will wonder to myself what it must sound like. Sometimes i'm surprised and sometimes i catch the label the band is on and get a better idea about what i'm about to unleash upon myself. The latter was the case with Montreal's BIG|BRAVE. Being on Southern Lord clued me in to the fact that the trio's new album "Vital" was going to be noisy, was certainly going to be heavy, and was probably going to rule. It does all of those things. Check out "Of This Ilk" below and pre-order the record here.
