Daily Jam - Falling from Grace

Much like how some of the best shoegaze out there comes from Japan or Korea, a lot of the best darkwave synth pop comes to us via France.  Here's Minuit Machine side project Hante. with "Falling from Grace" to prove the point.  Listen below, our Daily Jam.

Minuit Machine

When i'm in the mood for some icy, techno-prone, darkwave synth pop, it' hard not to find myself in the grip of French electronic artist Minuit Machine.  Those cold and pulsing tones hit just right.  And they just dropped a new single this morning.  Check out the dancefloor-ready "Hold Me" below and download it here from Synth Religion.

Minuit Machine

French darkwave synth pop band Minuit Machine contributed a new song to the "RainboWarriors Vol 1" compilation from WARRIORECORDS.  The comp is full of likeminded synth and electronic artists and veers towards the queer and inclusive.  Check out "Love Bomber" below and get the comp LP here.

Minuit Machine Live

Last December, some likeminded synth artists performed live sets for what in essence was a virtual rave, the Sainte Rave.  COVID times call for COVID measures, and artists do what they have to do.  At any rate, one of the performers was one of my favorite synth pop groups of the last 10 years, the French duo Minuit Machine.  And their set is coming out next month with the live album "Sainte Rave."  Check out their performance version of last year's "Don't Run from the Fire" below, and order the record here from Synth Religion.

I just found out that French synth wave artist Hélène de Thoury has a new album coming out this summer with her solo project Hante., and today i find a new EP from her other project Minuit Machine.  Everything's coming up Milhouse.  Anyway, check out the dark and propulsive "Sisters" below and download the "Basic Needs" EP here via WARRIORECORDS.

Minuit Machine

Hooray!  I had heard a rumor that we were getting a new album from French darkwave synth pop duo Minuit Machine this year, but didn't really know if it was for real or not, with Helene de Thoury already releasing a new record from her Hante. project a couple months ago.  But here we are.  And it's out soon too.  The "Infrarouge" LP finds the duo traversing their usual sea of melancholy and dark, icy synthesizer tones, and i am here for it.  Listen to "DRGS" below and pre-order the record here, out next month on Synth Religion.

Hante.

I don't usually post album teasers (just give us a song already!), but i adored French synth pop artist Hante.'s 2017 album "Between Hope and Danger," so i am stoked that a new album is heading our way next month.  So, check out the teaser for the upcoming "FIERCE" LP, and then pre-order it here from Synth Religion.

Hante.

Hante. is the solo project of Minuit Machine's Hélène de Thoury, an icy and gloomy collection of darkwave synth tracks.  The cold mood is palpable, drawing from bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, and more.  Grab the "Between Hope and Danger" LP here and listen to album opener "Le Point de Non-Retour" below.

Minuit Machine

Late last year, right around Halloween, i came across a wonderful, gothy darkwave album from French duo Minuit Machine...and lo and behold they're back again this year just in time for Halloween with another record of pulsing synths and dark pop grooves.  Listen to "Everlasting" below and get "Violent Rains" here from No Emb Blanc Records.

Minuit Machine

French minimal darkwave synth duo Minuit Machine craft haunting, gothic numbers that feel equal parts Cure and quirky industrial rave.  I like everything about that last sentence.  The band's album "Live and Destroy" is out now on Desire Records.  Listen to "Agoraphobia" below, and brood a little bit.
