Joseph Allred

Boston guitarist Joseph Allred has been making music for a number of years now, releasing over 20 albums in that time, and somehow, it all feels like it was leading to the upcoming new album "Old Time Fantasias" which drops this Friday.  The album feels huge (even at just 7 tracks), incorporating elements of folk, country, blues, ragtime, pop, ambient soundscapes, and so much more to create a kind of cinematic instrumental Americana, a soundtrack to life.  Check out the wonderful and swaying "Moon Dance" below and order the new LP here from Scissor Tail Records.

Talk West

Talk West is the experimental pedal steel alias of Dylan Golden Aycock.  And i love that experimental pedal steel is a thing.  Tomorrow, the artist will release a split cassette with fellow pedal steel player Gary Peters, with each taking a side for their particular brands of instrumental, ambient cosmic country.  Check out the kind of haunting video for "Cognitive Dissonant Trance II" below and snag "The Different Same" here from Scissor Tail Records.

Bruce Langhorne

Way back in 1969, country and folk artist Bruce Langhorne scored Peter Fonda's directorial debut "The Hired Hands," and the result was a beautiful and desolate sounding piece of Americana.  Country music has always carried with it an air of sadness, but Langhorne's score takes it to its lonesome, desperate, and anguished conclusion.  The fine folks at Scissor Tail Records are reissuing the album, which you can pre-order here, and God bless them for it.  Listen to "Opening" below.
