Moze Pray

There's a burgeoning little industrial/electronic scene in San Antonio which i think we can all agree is a good thing.  The latest comes from Moze Pray, whose new album "A Whirling Hall of Knives" drops next month on Somatic.  Listen to the thumping "RE-WIRE" below and pre-order the cassette here.

Mvtant

San Antonio artist Mvtant makes loud and noisy industrial electronic music, dance ready beats paired piercing sound and clang.  Austin label Somatic are now issuing the artist's first two EPs together on the upcoming "Gore / Mirrorshade" cassette.  Check out "Gore" below and pre-order the tape here.

Communion

Austin band Communion craft immense and epic pieces of sound, colliding elements of doom and sludge and black metal into drone and darkened ambient tones to make a thudding cacophony that's both chaotic and sinister.  It's flashes of violence and destruction followed by quiet ruin and swaths of grey.  New album "Field of Ruin" is out now on the Somatic label.  Listen to the album opening "Field of Universal Ruin" below and get the cassette or download here.

Xander Harris - Beautiful Blues

Somatic Records here in Austin is a pretty cool little label that puts out kinds of synthy, droney, noisy goodies.  (Full disclosure: i'm friends with one of the guys who runs the label.)  Anyway, celebrating the fact that they've completely sold out of all of their first run cassette releases, the label is offering up some of their offerings for free download for a limited time.  Right now, you can snag Xander Harris' new half hour opus "Beautiful Blues," and you should,as it's a sweeping, washing piece of sound, and perfect to cool out to later tonight after fireworks.  Listen below.
