Sunwell

Here's some dark and gloomy doomgaze from Sunwell to blacken the skies for you this Thursday morning.  The band's new album "I'm Looking at the Light" is out now.  Get it here from the always stellar French label Stellar Frequencies and listen to the abyssal and beautiful "Carry Us" below.

Les Arcanes

French band Les Arcanes make grungy, shoegaze-tinted alt-rock that feels just right for a Friday evening before a gaggle of 9 and 10-year old boys descend upon your house.  Or maybe that's just me and my youngest's impending sleepover.  Shudder.  Anyhoo, check out "HMK" below and snag the "D.D.P." cassette here from Stellar Frequencies.

Malevil

I came across French duo Malevil a couple of weeks ago with their homage/tribute to Angelo Badalamenti "Le Sel."  The duo's new track "Les Plaies" traverses in more of an electronic vein, but keeps the cinematic vibe and grandeur.  Check it out below and pre-order the upcoming "Tue L'amour" album here from Stellar Frequencies and Urgence Disk.

Dead Horse One

Later this month, French alt-rock band Dead Horse One are dropping a new split cassette with Pittsburg band Threaded on the Stellar Frequencies label.  Dig on their shoegaze and grunge-tinged "Under the Sun" below and snag a copy of the tape here.

Malevil

When David Lynch passed away last month, which honestly i'm still reeling from, French duo Malevil released new track "Le Sel," a sonic homage to the work of longtime Lynch collaborator Angelo Badalamenti.  It serves as a wonderful tribute to both.  Listen below and download it here from Stellar Frequencies.

Soaring

There is just something about the sound of mixing shoegaze, black metal, and post rock that is absolute heaven to my ears.  And French band Soaring have me covered on all bases with their upcoming new self-titled album.  Pre-order it here from Stellar Frequencies and enjoy the cacophonous bliss of "Sun" below.

Olin Janusz

London artist Olin Janusz is here for the moody jams with upcoming new album "Please Leave Quietly," a mix of folk, alt-country, and chamber music that has a whole lot of Arab Strap, Leonard Cohen, and Nick Cave vibes.  Check out "Quarter Light" below and get the record here from the artist, out on Stellar Frequencies.

Sarita Idalia

I found out the other day that apparently shoegaze has become this big thing on Tik Tok.  And slowcore too.  What a strange world we live in.  Anyway, speaking of shoegaze and slowcore, French artist Sarita Idalia has a new album of reverbed bedroom laments and dirges coming our way next month with "Life Eternal."  Check out the dreamy and melancholy "Spirit Ditch" below and pre-order the cassette here from Stellar Frequencies.
