The Stargazer Lilies

August brings us new music from the now Florida-based Stargazer Lilies.  On "Ambient Light," the band makes a darkened, shoegaze-tinged style of alt-rock that sounds like something that would have inhabited my earspace at any moment over the last 30+ years.  Check the song out below and pre-order the upcoming "Love Pedals" LP here.

One of my favorite bands to discover in the last few years is Philadelphia shoegaze act The Stargazer Lilies.  And last month, the band recorded a virtual live concert (2020 being what 2020 is) at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.  You can get the performance here.  In the meanwhile, listen to a live take of one of my favorite songs of 2019, "Monsters of Your Thought," below.

In a pairing i was not expecting to see today, the lovely Pennsylvania shoegaze act The Stargazer Lilies are teaming up with Black Moth Super Rainbow's Tobacco behind the boards for their upcoming new record "Occabot."  And going from the first taste, the creeping, oozing, reverbed "Living Work of Art," both artists seem to be represented accordingly.  It sounds like somebody left a shogaze LP out in the sun for too long.  Check it out below and pre-order the record here via Rad Cult.

I'm a longtime fan of shoegaze, that particular genre of noise and reverb and echo acting as an aural balm to my aching soul, and one of my favorite acts to come out in recent years who practice in that kind of sound is Pennsylvania band The Stargazer Lilies.  The group's "Lost" LP was one of my favorite records of 2017, and now they've got a couple of new tracks out, hopefully a sign of a new album to come.  Listen to the swirly drawl of "Supernatural" below and then get it here from the band.

It's everywhere i look.  "Twin Peaks" is everywhere i look.  I'm not even trying.  And most recently it presents itself in the new single from The Stargazer Lilies' upcoming album "Lost."  The Lynchian named "Enter the Black Lodge" is a beautiful, ominous swirl of sound, every bit as intoxicating as its namesake.  Listen below and pre-order the new album from Graveface here.
