This song is almost 20 years old. Yeesh. Here's "Hotel Yorba" by The White Stripes, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Last Cup of Sorrow
Forever one of my favorite bands, Faith No More is one of those artists whose music is always going to be a comfort to me...especially when the whole world goes to shit. Dig on "Last Cup of Sorrow" and the "Vertigo" video that goes along with it below, our Daily Jam.
Bing & Ruth
New York's experimental ambient ensemble Bing & Ruth recorded their latest album "Species" out in the dust and desert of West Texas. The atmosphere lends itself handily to the artist's minimalist sounds. To me, i can see the rolling white dunes of the Monahans sand hills listening to the soothing Farfisa organ on "I Had No Dream." Blue skies that go on forever, light touching everything. Listen below and grab the new LP here from 4AD.

Daily Jam - Heartbeats
Trying to put myself in a better place this morning with The Knife. The electronic duo would go on to make colder and darker sounds, but "Heartbeats" is still a summer blast. Check it out below, our Daily Jam.
Oh Sees
If i go more that a couple of months without hearing that there's new music on the way from Oh Sees, i start to worry. Anyway, it's been a couple months, so here's some new music on the way from Oh Sees. Check out the quick blast of psych punk with the punchy "Dreary Nonsense" below and pre-order the "Protean Threat" album here from the band, and then keep an eye on a physical release from Castle Face Records after that.

Angel Olsen
It's been a real shitty day today right? Well, at least we're getting a new album from Angel Olsen next month. Dropping the epic and symphonic (and also excellent) sound of last year's "All Mirrors" for something more stripped down, haunting, and achingly lovely, the new album is probably going to sound like quarantine. Pre-order the "Whole New Mess" LP here from Jagjaguwar and listen to the wonderful title track below.
Daily Jam - Lost in the Plot
Ah, The Dears' "No Cities Left" LP, one of those albums that ended up in my grubby little hands because the clerks in the record store were playing it and it caught me. Here's "Lost in the Plot," our Daily Jam.

WOW
Italian experimental, psych-tinged post punk band WOW just released a new album called "Falene." Side A of the cassette is a closed door live set recorded during quarantine, and Side B includes a remix of an older track and a couple brand new tunes. Check out the creeping, crawling title track below and get the album here from Maple Death Records.
Daily Jam - The Bigness of Small Things
I was always a sucker for those late '90s/early '00s bands that pulled from The Beatles and '60s sunshine psych pop. Here's one from one of the lesser known acts The Universe. Listen to "The Bigness of Small Things" below, our Daily Jam.

RIP John Saxon
I saw last night that actor John Saxon passed away at the age of 83. Like most folks my age, my first memory of him was as Nancy's dad in "A Nightmare on Elm Street," with a whole slew of roles to follow. As my B-movie viewing expanded, i'd catch him in all manner of films, with his mere presence elevating what might otherwise be garbage. And now i'll watch anything with him in it. He'll be missed. RIP John Saxon.
Zetra
UK duo Zetra have been a permanent fixture in my house since hearing their demo tape a year and a half ago, their particular mesh of darkwave synth pop, shoegaze, industrial, doom, and black metal feeling tailor made just for my ears. And next month finally sees the release or their Death Waltz debut. Listen to "Phaethon" below, pre-order the cassette from the band here, and be on the lookout for the vinyl in the near future.

Daily Jam - A Summer Song
Everyday i fight off an impending panic attack. Today, i'm doing it while making bacon and eggs and listening to Chad & Jeremy's "A Summer Song." You can listen too, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - You Are the Blood
There is something about this song that i have always found to be so unsettling. It makes onto a lot of my Halloween mixes. Anyway, here's "You Are the Blood" by Castanets, our Daily Jam.
Slow Crush x Lost Century Kid
Belgian shoegaze band Slow Crush have partnered with synth artist Lost Century Kid for a reworking of the title track from the band's 2018 album "Aurora." The result is "Aurora Redux," a lush and dreamy jam that feels like it would have fit right in on the "Drive" soundtrack. Check it out below and get it here.
Death Valley Girls
October is also bringing us a new record from LA garage rock band Death Valley Girls. New tune "The Universe" features mind melting organs and a sneaky, groovy saxophone in shoegaze-tinged psychedelic stew. Check it out below and get the "Under the Spell of Joy" LP here from Suicide Squeeze.
METZ
October is bringing us a new album from METZ. The Toronto noise makers have been going strong for a number of years, and in my humble opinion get better with each new record. Check out "A Boat to Drown In" below and pre-order the upcoming "Atlas Vending" LP here from Sub Pop.

Daily Jam - Humming
When i'm in the right head space, Portishead is the best band that ever existed. Guess i'm in that head space this morning. Here's "Humming," our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - The Order of Death
I feel like this song plays in the background every morning when i'm getting ready, at least in my head. Here's "The Order of Death" from Public Image Ltd., our Daily Jam.
Fuzz
Stoner garage rock power trio Fuzz are back this October with new album "III" to blast out eardrums to. And here they are, looking like some kind of "Lost Boys" cast outs. Listen to "Returning" below, and pre-order the Steve Albini-engineered record here from In The Red.
The Belbury Poly
The sounds of The Belbury Poly have always been an otherworldly mix of analog synths, kosmische psych, krautrock, sci-fi vibes, and old British folk music, sometimes all at once, and the upcoming new album "The Gone Away" seems to ready to continue carrying that torch. Check out the trippy video for the title track below and pre-order the record here from Ghost Box.

Andy Bell
Earlier this month, Andy Bell, best known as the singer/guitarist from Ride or for his stint in Oasis, released his first solo single, the trance-inducing, lullaby-like "Plastic Bag." Check it out below and get it here from Sonic Cathedral.
Daily Jam - None of Them Knew They Were Robots
I will always love the crazy and frenetic energy of Mr. Bungle, a group that started out as a bunch of ridiculously talented kids riffing on thrash metal that eventually morphed into whatever you want to call 1999's swan song album "California." Here's "None of Them Knew They Were Robots," our Daily Jam.

Ora Cogan
Ora Cogan makes a kind of dreamy, psychedelic folk that can veer way off course with elements of synth pop or chamber music yet still seem totally centered. It often sounds like driving through the desert at night. New album "Bells in the Ruins" is out now. Get it from the artist here and listen to the transcendent album opener "Sleeping" below.
Daily Jam - Gloria in Exelsis Toccata
Gray clouds are rolling in. Maybe it's going to rain. Maybe not. Some obscure, proggy, Catholic mass-tinged psych rock feels like it should be in order. Here's "Gloria in Exelsis Toccata" from '60s prog/psych band Plus, our Daily Jam.

The Serfs
It's hot as hell here in Central Texas today, so let's cool it off a little bit with some cold and lo-fi synth pop from Cincinnati band The Serfs. Listen to "Perverted Disco" below and get the "Sounds of Serfdom" album here via Wasted Tapes.

Daily Jam - Weed Demon
Every day is either chaotically busy with work and kids and the house, or just the same things over and over again. This is the new normal. This is the new world. Here's "Weed Demon" from Wavves, our Daily Jam.

Flesh of Morning
When i'm hunting around online for new music to listen to and i come across an artist i've never heard of before who's listed as being from Austin, i can't help but to give them a spin. And it's always a treat when the artist makes a style of music that's not generally associated with the Austin scene. And so we have the propulsive and moody "Death Becomes Bitter" from synthy, darkwave post punk duo Flesh of Morning. Check it out below and pre-order the upcoming "We Are" b/w "Death Becomes Bitter" cassette here from Annals Imprint.
Cut Worms
Brooklyn's Cut Worms makes a kind of quirky, indie pop blend of folk, country, and doo-wop. On the latest single release, the artist really leans into the old school country pop, and it's lovely. Listen to "Unnatural Disaster" below and get the new tunes here from Jagjaguwar.
Daily Jam - Hooch
One day i came across the Melvins' "Houdini" LP at a record store, and an original pressing to boot. I snatched it up quick, but before i could buy it, one of the record store clerks told me to make sure the vinyl looked okay because, "You know how Melvins fans are." I think about that all the time. Here's "Hooch," our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - I Found a Reason
The only time i've ever liked the cover of a Velvet Underground song better than the original Velvet Underground song. Here's Cat Power's devastating and beautiful version of "I Found a Reason," our Daily Jam.
Yo La Tengo
Back in April, which seems like so very, very long ago, the indie rock stalwarts of Yo La Tengo recorded an improvisational session of ambient, droney, pysch-tinged explorations. In the past, they've used these kinds of sessions to work out new songs, and that could still happen here, but they decided to just release it all anyway. Listen to "We Have Amnesia Sometimes" below in its entirety below and order the LP here from Matador.
Peel Dream Magazine
New York's Peel Dream Magazine already released a pretty great album of shogaze pop earlier this year, and a couple weeks ago they followed it up with an equally great EP of new tunes. Listen to the short but sweet "New Culture" below and download the "Moral Panics" EP here from Slumberland.
Widowspeak
New York duo Widowspeak return later this summer with a new album of folk and alt-country tinged dreampop. Listen to "Money" below and pre-order the upcoming "Plum" LP here from Captured Tracks.

Daily Jam - Climbing to the Moon
The music of Eels is nothing if not melancholy, and the band's sophomore release "Electro-Shock Blues" took that melancholy, turned it tragic and somber, added some extra quirkiness, and then included a small light of hope at the end. What a record. Here's "Climbing to the Moon," our Daily Jam.

Holy Motors
Here's a new piece of dusty, dreamy, Americana-tinged pop from Estonian band Holy Motors. The group carries a world weariness to them that belies their youth. Really good stuff. Look for them in a roadhouse somewhere this side of David Lynch. Check out "Country Church" below and pre-order the upcoming "Horse" LP here from Wharf Cat.
Daily Jam - Home Before Dark
Nora Guthrie, daughter of Woody, sister of Arlo, dancer and artist, recorded and released two songs way back in 1967 which were apparently so great, she never followed them up with anything else. Truth be told, they are great. Here's "Home Before Dark," our Daily Jam.

HEALTH & Full of Hell
HEALTH and Full of Hell are both bands that like to collaborate with other artists, so i suppose it was just a matter of time before the electro noise band and the hardcore metal noise band teamed up to collaborate together. And what a collaboration. The aptly named "Full of Health" pairs the best parts of both artists together for a pretty rad track. Check it out below and pre-order the upcoming 7" here from Closed Casket.
Daily Jam - Snowflakes
I remember buying "The Evening Descends" by Evangelicals years and years ago based solely on the trippy horror Giallo vibes of the cover art. It doesn't sound anything like that. It's still cool though. Here's the shoegazey psych pop of "Snowflakes," our Daily Jam.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
Maybe everything is shit, but at least we get a new jam from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard today. Dropping the thrash metal mayhem from their last record, the band finds itself in more of a poppy psych folk mold for "Honey." Check it out below and get it here via Flightless.
Daily Jam - Rockets Fall on Rocket Falls
Godspeed You! Black Emperor makes music that could soundtrack all kinds of different things. Today, i'm using it to soundtrack our country's impending collapse. It's just around the corner, and we all know it. Here's "Rockets Fall of Rocket Falls," our Daily Jam.

Offermose
German record label Beläten just released a new sampler cassette featuring 19 artists on the roster. The mix, entitled "En Sommar Av Plåga," is comprised of a whole lot of different, rad sounds, from darkwave synth pop to industrial beats, drone to black metal tinged noise, post punk to dark, ambient soundscapes. I was sold one track in. And that first track is from Danish experimental artist Offermose. Check out the icy and crawling "Korrupt Tradition" below and get the whole album here from the label.
Daily Jam - She's The Queen
Starflyer 59, the only certified Christian band i emphatically support. Here's the crunchy and distorted "She's The Queen," our Daily Jam.

Frank Ene
Frank Ene (former member of Pure Bliss and The Fresh and Onlys) just released a new short solo album of darkened pop. The songs on "No Longer" aren't necessarily gothy or anything, but there's an element of later era Leonard Cohen floating over the whole affair like gathering storm clouds, rain beginning to fall as a sad drunk laments his life in a dark corner of a bar. Check out "I've Studied You" below and get the album here via Empty Cellar.
Daily Jam - Call Me Up
Sometimes i feel like World Party should have been bigger. "Who?" many of you ask. Resigned nod. Anyway, here's "Call Me Up," our Daily Jam.
