DDENT
French artist DDENT is back with a new EP of post rock, metal, and noise with this month's "Ex Auditu (Part 2)." Opening track "La Nuit Transforme" sounds like sonic anguish and awe, and i like it very much. Listen below and download the whole EP here from Chien Noir.
Daily Jam - Isi
Wife and kids convinced me to get a new dog yesterday. I was never going to be ready again, so now is as good a time as any. Here's some krautrock from Neu! to celebrate. Listen to "Isi" below, our Daily Jam.

The Holy Family
Here's some weird and kind of unsettling new music from UK psych outfit The Holy Family. "Bad Travelling" sounds like a harbinger, and not of something good. Check it out below and get the new "Go Zero" LP here from Rocket Recordings.
Daily Jam - The Girls Want to Be with the Girls
Never, ever, ever, ever gonna happen, but it sure would make me smile if the Talking Heads reunited. Here's a cut from their 1978 album "More Songs About Buildings and Food." Listen to "The Girls Want to Be with the Girls" below, our Daily Jam.

Sadness
The ever prolific Sadness keeps churning out the shoegaze, dreampop, and black metal hits, with three releases so far this month. It's all worth checking out, but for the meantime, listen to "Elisa in Summer Night," taken from the split album "Summerset Streetlights" with Kenopsia, below, and download the whole thing here for a dollar.
Crystal♱Angel
Electronic artist Crystal♱Angel has kind of a witch house take on Enigma thing going on, elements of that genre swirling with gothic moods and sensual rhythms. It's pretty cool. Check out "Tulpa Creation" below and download the new "A Guiding Light" album here from Untitled Burial.
Augustus Miller
Augustus Miller, one half of the Massachusetts darkwave group Boy Harsher, is set to drop "Cellulosed Bodies" in September, a collection of soundtracks the artist created for a couple of different projects called "Crash" and "Automaton." Check out the moody and pulsing "Fur and Metal" below and pre-order the LP here from Nude Club Records.
Powerplant

Flat Worms

RIP Sinead O'Connor
I was so busy with work yesterday that i didn't find out about Sinead O'Connor's passing until late last night. This makes me so sad. She was the embodiment of punk ethos, defiantly speaking truth to power, even while doing so destroyed her career. She was a real one. RIP Sinead O'Connor.

Tan Cologne
Here's a hazy and dusty new track from New Mexico duo Tan Cologne. "Visitation" sounds like sitting in the desert at night, the hum of the dark and sands around you. Check it out below and download it here.
Holy Hive
New York band Holy Hive have a wonderful psych and soul thing going on and released their fantastic self-titled album in 2021. Unbeknownst to me, the band broke up right around the same time that album was released, which is a bummer. But i guess as a farewell gift of sorts, the band are set to put out a record of unreleased tunes recorded during their time together with the upcoming "Big Crown Vaults Vol. 3." courtesy of Big Crown Records. Check out "Love It Is Not Love," which i'm honestly surprised didn't make it onto an album before now, below and pre-order the record here.
Bélver Yin
Spanish shoegaze band Bélver Yin released a couple of albums in the '90s, and then like so many others, faded away into obscurity. Recently, Australian label Efficient Space reissued the band's early work, stoking the fires of creativity within them and bringing about the upcoming reunion album "Para Me Madre." Check out the album's dreamy opening track "Una Vida Por Delante (Candela's Song)" below and pre-order the album here.
Luke Schneider
Pedal steel guitarist and ambient country artist Luke Schneider just released new album "It Is Solved by Walking," five tracks of meditative bliss that sounds like the sun rising over creation (or a lot like the cover art). Check out "Gloria" below and get the record here from Centripetal Force.
Daily Jam - I Like Your Photographs
Very irritated and disappointed with a couple of old friends right now, and there's nothing i can do to remedy the situation except watch as a 3 decade friendship crumbles away. It's sad and disheartening and has certainly grayed my mood the last couple of days. Anyway, here's a melancholy track from Starflyer 59 to start our Monday with. Listen to "I Like Your Photographs" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Patriot's Lullabye
One of my favorite '60s psych records is the wonderful self-titled album from The United States of America from 1968. You can hear its influence in bands like Broadcast and Stereolab. The following year, member Joe Byrd would go on to make "The American Metaphysical Circus" with his group Joe Byrd and The Field Hippies. While that album doesn't quite reach the heights of its predecessor, it's a strange, cool trip all the same. Check out "Patriot's Lullabye" below, our Daily Jam.

GUNSHIP
UK synthwave artist GUNSHIP has a new album coming our way in September, and it has a whole slew of different guest artists on it. Some of these guests seem obvious (Carpenter Brut, Power Glove, John Carpenter), and some others not so much (Dave Lombardo, Gavin Rossdale, Britta Phillips). At any rate, i await hearing the whole thing. In the meanwhile, check out the Power Glove assisted "Ghost" below and pre-order the "Unicorn" album here.
Daily Jam - Death of a Clown
Somewhere along the way these last couple weeks, The Kinks' "Death of a Clown" made its way into my brain and has established permanent residence. It's not going anywhere...so here it is. Listen below, our Daily Jam.

Helpful People
Here's a little lo-fi jangle from Bay area band Helpful People. The group features members of Skygreen Leopards and The Mantles, and the soothing gentle fuzz is just what i needed this morning. Check out "Bugs from Below" below and order the "Brokenblossom Threats" LP here from Tall Texan.
Daily Jam - Panic
I hate that The Smiths have become one of those "separate the art from the artist" kind of situations for me, but a particular lead singer's fascistic point of view tends to do that. Anyway, i still dig the old songs, so here's "Panic," our Daily Jam.

THROTH
Noisy UK band THROTH are back with new album "Six Feet Beneath Me Sleep," and this time around they've thrown some British folk sounds into the mix. It adds an eerie effect to the din and distortion. Check out "Magpie" below and get the album here.
Daily Jam - Beetlebum (Moby's Mix)
I feel like all the alt-rock bands got their songs remixed by electronic artists in the late '90s. It was just a thing. Anyway, here's Blur getting the remix treatment by Moby. Listen to "Beetlebum (Moby's Mix)" below, our Daily Jam.

Lost Girls
Lost Girls, Jenny Hval's collaborative project with multi-instrumentalist Havard Volden, are back with new song "Ruins." There's an icy avant garde thing going on, and i am here for it. Check the track out below and get it here from Smalltown Supersound.
Daily Jam - The End of History
Here's some quirky, lo-fi alt-pop from Momus to start our week to. Until i looked just now, i had no idea the man has been making music for almost 40 years now. Anyway, check out "The End of History" below, our Daily Jam.

White Beast
Plenty of bands these days pull from the grunge and alt-rock sounds of the '90s, and it's very cool when one of those bands does so from the crustier side of things. Virginia duo White Beast sound like the bands that influenced the bands that made it big. Noisier. Fuzzier. Heavier. Grungier. Check out "Suffering Spectacle" below from the band's new "Suffering Time" LP, and get the record here.
Daily Jam - Drag
Here's some '90s shoegaze from Bethany Curve to soundtrack your Sunday morning. We're eating donuts and cleaning house over here. You? Listen to "Drag" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Moonshine
It's been over a hundred degrees here everyday for weeks now and weeks to come. It makes me want to get back to the Pacific coast. Here's some Dennis Wilson to put me in the appropriate mood. Listen to "Moonshine" below, our Daily Jam.

Urban Heat
Austin darkwave and post punk band Urban Heat just dropped a cover of Q Lazzarus's timeless "Goodbye Horses." It's been something to see that song become this kind of precious specter over the last 35 years. Everyone loves it. Anyway, check out the cover below and get it here.
Daily Jam - Memory Band
And now for a little orchestra and soul from Minnie Riperton for our Friday. Listen to "Memory Band" below, our Daily Jam.

T R E M O U R S
LA duo T R E M O U R S make a droney mix of death rock and shoegaze that feels like it could soundtrack losing oneself in the sun drenched desert or the neon soaked back alleys of the city. Either way. Check out new single "Dark Glasses" below and get the 7" here from the band.
Vanishing Twin
UK outfit Vanishing Twin return in October with a new album of post-punk and dreampop tinged kosmische psychedelia. Pre-order "Afternoon X" here from Fire Records and listen to the title track below.
