Karen y los Remedios
Things get trippy on "Bestiaria," the latest release from Mexico's Karen y los Remedios. The band fuses elements of Latin pop with trip-hop, folk, and general weirdness. Check out the eerie album opener "Curandera" below and get the LP here from ZZK Records.
Dééfait
I was hopping around Bandcamp last night sampling things and came across the new self-titled album from French band Dééfait, a moody and swirling mix of post punk and noise rock. It's the kind of thing i could see myself becoming a complete and utter devotee of if i caught them at like SXSW or something. Very cool shit. Check out "Folâtre, Fissure, Crie!" below and get the LP here from lci d'ailleurs.
October Horror Trailer - Prime Evil
You'll have to login to YouTube to watch this one since there's boobs in it. We live in a society of prudes.
Daily Jam (October Edition) - Crucified Woman
One of my favorite things about Italian horror movies, cannibal flicks in particular, is how gorgeous the soundtracks are despite the repulsive or gruesome nature of the films they are scoring. Composer Riz Ortolani's soundtrack to "Cannibal Holocaust" is probably the best example of this. Blood and guts, cannibalism, rape, torture, racism, colonialism, animal cruelty...all set to the lush and beautiful sounds composed and conducted by Maestro Ortolani. Listen to "Crucified Woman" below, our Daily Jam.

The Blood Mountain Black Metal Choir
Scratching that black metal itch i get from time to time with some new music from the delightfully named Atlanta artist The Blood Mountain Black Metal Choir. Daily Jam (October Edition) - Haunted Boogie

Iconic Fugues
Parquet Courts member Andrew Savage has a brand new band called Iconic Fugues and just dropped new track "2025 Dream / 2025 Blues." The tune has a kinda lo-fi Americana cowpunk thing going for it. Check it out below and download it here from L'Alarme.

Liz Harris
Fresh off of the release of her fuzzy dreampop band Helen's new album, Liz Harris of Grouper fame just announced new album "Music for Two Films About Water." The aptly titled new record consists of two sprawling experimental tracks that served as soundtrack material for Tanja Englebert's "We Exhale" and Takashi Makino's "Constellation," each of which is a meditation on water. Listen to the sparse by gorgeous "Untitled (from Constellation)" below and pre-order the LP here from Kranky.
Psychic Death
Here's some great new death rock from Atlanta band Psychic Death. The group makes noisy gothic sounds for your autumnal listening pleasure. Check out "Blame" below and pre-order the upcoming "The Garden / The Grave" LP here from A Certain Fate.
Daily Jam (October Edition) - Dream
I rewatched "Rosemary's Baby" the other night, and it's wild how gripping the movie is almost 60 years later. A phenomenal film. Anyway, part of the movie's enduring quality is often haunting and trippy score from Polish jazz pianist and composer Krzysztof (Christopher) Komeda. Check out "Dream" below, our Daily Jam.

Damon Locks & D-Composed
Here's a very cool new collaboration between Chicago based visual and performance artist and musician Damon Locks and the black chamber music collective D-Composed. "Dawning" features the latter's unique string compositions paired with the former's beats and manipulated, improvisational spoken word pieces. It's kind of a trip. Check out "We Stay Beginning" below and pre-order the LP here from International Anthem.
Daily Jam (October Edition) - Devil's Gotten Into My Baby
Here's a little devilish soul from Detroit trio Devotions. Listen to "Devil's Gotten Into My Baby" below, our Daily Jam.

Experimental artist Lustmord brings on the dark ambient end times with his 1990 album "Heresy," a cold and ominous opus that sounds like the bowels of the earth opening and swallowing everything to hell. Perfect vibes for the season. Check out "Heresy Part I" below, our Daily Jam.

Protomartyr
Detroit post punk band Protomartyr made their triumphant return last week with their new album "Hotel Usona," recorded with legendary producer Dave Fridmann. Digging into the record, and you can totally hear the producer's influence all over it, and it pairs quite nicely with the band's gruff and noisy sound. The Olivia Tremor Control
It's going to be bittersweet for sure, with the passing of Bill Doss in 2012 and Will Cullen Hart in 2024, but The Olivia Tremor Control's final album, "The Same Place," is heading our way at month's end. The writing and recording began a long while back, and the remaining band members saw fit to complete the project. I love them. Anyway, listen to "Advice from the Oceans" below and pre-order the download here or the vinyl here from Elephant 6.
Daily Jam (October Edition) - Haunted House of Rock
There are a bunch of bands out there that took that spooky '60s surf and garage rock sound and ran with it. One of those was '90s band Satan's Pilgrims. Here they are with "Haunted House of Rock," our Daily Jam.

Deep Glens
I didn't get home today until late, so gonna be logging off here in just a sec. But first, here's some cool IDM-infused electronic music from Minnesota artist Deep Glens. New album "Carver" came out a couple weeks back, and it's a pretty solid listen. Check out the glitchy, album opening "ok ak" below and snag a copy of the LP here.
