Beach House
One of the albums i picked up last weekend on Record Store Day was the early release of Beach House's new EP "Become." The record consists of five tracks recorded during the "Once Twice Melody" sessions and are as dreamy as you'd expect them to be. The regular edition of the EP is up for pre-order now. Get it here from Sub Pop and listen to "American Daughter" below.
HEALTH
It's always fun to get new music from the now long running LA noise synth band HEALTH. The group has been in collaboration mode for a few years now, making a songs with a slew of different artists. The latest is "Hateful," featuring Leo Ashline from industrial band Street Sects. Check it out below and download it here from Loma Vista.

Fucked Up
Long running Toronto hardcore punk band Fucked Up dropped a surprise 7" last weekend for Record Store Day, though i didn't see it anywhere. Anyway, the three new songs are available for download now, and i can only assume the vinyl is out there somewhere. Download here and listen to "Cops" below.

Daily Jam - A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain that Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld (Orbital Dance Mix)
Thinking back on it, i listened to way more music by The Orb back in the '90s than i maybe realized. They always managed to find the stereo whenever things got a little green and would make for an interesting vibe. Dig on the Minnie Riperton sample at the beginning of "A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain that Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld (Orbital Dance Mix)" below, then stay for the blissed out electronics. It's our Daily Jam.

Seven Rivers of Fire
It's gray and rainy here this morning, and the trippy, droning freak folk sounds of South Africa's Seven Rivers of Fire are playing to the mood as i write this and pretend to work. Check out "They Are Calling // Exodus" below and get the "Way of the Pilgrim" album here from Ramble Records.
Daily Jam - Wayward Song
Here's a little '00s psych-tinged indie pop to get things flowing today. Listen to "Wayward Song" by The Earlies below, our Daily Jam.

The music of Sigur Rós can speak to my soul like no other music really can, which is quite something considering some of it is sung in a made-up language. Here's "Untitled #1" from the band's 2002 album "( )," our Daily Jam.

Dorthia Cottrell
Windhand singer Dorthia Cottrell just dropped her second solo album over the weekend and it's awash in dark and gothic folk and blues. I will always be a fan of this kind of blackened Americana. Check out "Family Annihilator" below and pick up the "Death Folk Country" LP here from Relapse Records.
Daily Jam - For the Sake of the Song
The songs of Townes Van Zandt put me in a particular mood or place. It's a nice mood and a nice place, so we're starting the week off with a track. Here's "For the Sake of the Song" from the artist's 1968 debut for our Daily Jam.

Dave Okumu & The 7 Generations
Here's a cool and soulful mix of jazz, hip-hop, electronica, and alt-rock from London artist Dave Okumu & The 7 Generations. Bell Witch
Seattle metal band Bell Witch are nothing if not ambitious. Their latest is an 83-minute long track called "Future's Shadow Part 1: The Clandestine Gate," and it's an epic piece of funereal doom. And one can only assume there will be more parts to follow. Anyway, if you've got the time, check it out below and get it here from Profound Lore.
Daily Jam - Look on Down from the Bridge
Say what you will about "Rick and Morty," love it or hate it, you still have to admit that whoever it is that picks the music to put in episodes knocks it out of the park every time. Like this Mazzy Star track used in the first season. Listen to the quietly devastating "Look on Down from the Bridge" below, our Daily Jam.

Monde UFO
I was unaware we were getting a new LP from LA band Monde UFO tomorrow, but here we are. Check out "Garden of Agony" below and order the new "Vandalized Statue to Be Replaced with Shrine" LP here from Quindi Records.
Daily Jam - I Don't Think So
Here's hoping i get to go see Dinosaur Jr play a matinee show at the new park here next week. Here's hoping. And here's the band with "I Don't Think So," our Daily Jam.

Portrayal of Guilt
Austin's blackened metal band Portrayal of Guilt are set to release new album "Devil Music" at the end of the week. They have yet to release any singles or tracks per se, but they did put out a very cool "trailer" for the new record. Going on the sounds and visuals in said trailer, and the loud and heavy performance i caught during SXSW last month, "Devil Music" is going to rule. Watch the trailer below and pre-order the album here from Run For Cover Records.

French disco group Black Devil released their debut album "Disco Club" back in 1978, finally following it up 28 years later with their sophomore effort, the aptly titled "28 After." Here's album opener "The Devil in Us," our Daily Jam.

Just finished a bunch of yard work, and now for a bunch of house work. Here's Human League to play me through it all. Listen to "(Keep Feeling) Fascination (Extended Version)" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Neat; Manageable: Piles
Man, do i still miss The Paper Chase. Sure, i appreciate John Congleton getting his hands on a plethora of different albums in an engineering or producing role, but something about his band's jarring, discordant, and macabre sound just spoke to my soul. I'm not sure what that says about me. Anyway, here's a track from the group's 2000 full-length debut. Listen to "Neat; Manageable: Piles" below, our Daily Jam.

EABS meets Jaubi
I first heard Polish jazz outfit EABS last year and was instantly taken by their mix of jazz and hip-hop. Next month will see the release of their latest album, a collaborative effort with Pakistani band Jaubi. The addition of Eastern sounds into the mix is something else. Check out "Sun" below and pre-order the "In Search of a Better Tomorrow" LP here from Astigmatic Records.
