Daily Jam - Marooned
I came to the game pretty late on seminal post punk band Wire, not really delving into their catalog until i was out of college. But man, you can hear their influence on so many acts that followed, and you could be hard pressed to find a better 3-album run than "Pink Flag," "Chairs Missing," and "154." Here's a subdued track from their sophomore effort. Listen to "Marooned" below, our Daily Jam.

Dead Leaf Echo
Here's some new noisy music from Brooklyn shoegaze act Dead Leaf Echo. I caught these guys quite by accident years ago at SXSW and just kind of floated away into the reverb with them. Check out "Call" below and get the new "The Mercy of Women" LP here from Lost in Ohio.
Daily Jam - Climbing Up the Walls
Radiohead's "OK Computer" is one of those albums whose tracks are in a constant rotation for what is my favorite at any given time. This morning it's "Climbing Up the Walls." Check it out below, our Daily Jam.

The Stone Tape - Analysing a Ghost by Electronic Means
The cool peeps over at Hidden Britain Tapes have put together a very neat compilation of music by a slew of British electronic artists creating a sonic homage to the 1972 British made-for-TV horror/sci-fi flick "The Stone Tape." The collection features music from The Heartwood Institute, Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan, and more. Check out the strange and mysterious tones of "It's in the Computer" by The Night Monitor below and pre-order the album download here (the cassette is already sold out).

Willing The Black Heart Procession to reunite. Willing with all my might. Here they are with "Gently Off the Edge," our Daily Jam.

Mitski
Truth be told, i'm not really any kind of Mitski fan. It's not that i think she's bad. She's not. I've just never really paid too much attention to her particular brand of indie pop. Anyway, i do have to admit that i love her new track "My Love Mine All Mine," an almost jazzy and loungey melancholy ballad. Check it out below and get the new "The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We" LP here from Dead Oceans.
Daily Jam - Together
I've probably said it a thousand times, but OG Britpop band Suede's B-sides are as good if not sometimes even better than their album tracks and singles. Just stellar work. Anyway, here's a B-side from the "Dog Man Star" era. Listen to "Together" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - For Nancy ('Cos It Already Is)
I caught a show at Stubb's a couple of nights ago with my wife, and being there made me remember 20+ years ago when i saw Pete Yorn perform there and how afterwards i got "hey mistered" for the first time (when high school kids ask you to buy beer for them). Good times. Anyway, here's Yorn with "For Nancy ('Cos It Already Is)," our Daily Jam.

Sprain
In case you were not aware of it, LA band Sprain released a contender for album of the year a couple weeks ago with the epic, noisy, and sprawling "The Lamb as Effigy." It's a massive album, but one i have not been able to get my mind off of since its release on the first. At its core, it's a post punk record, but sounds kind of like if Liars, IDLES, Xiu Xiu, Swans, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor all got together to make record. That being said, at the same time, these guys sound like no one else out there. Check out the 24-minute "Margin for Error" below and get the record here from The Flenser.
Daily Jam - Dead Flowers
For some reason, The Rolling Stones have been coming at me in various forms over the last couple days, via songs on the radio, movies, and cover versions at shows. So why not take the hint? Here they are with "Dead Flowers," our Daily Jam.

Mildred Maude Featuring Lorena Quintanilla
Sort of like feeling the barriers of reality melt around you, the droning, experimental, shoegaze-tinged sounds of Mildred Maude drip and slide about like so much real world sonic detritus. Paired with Lorena Quintanilla of Lorelle Meets the Obsolete, the result is hypnotic and transcendent. Check out "Shifting" below and pre-order the upcoming "Microclimates" EP here from Sonic Cathedral.
