CHAI

I've made a lot of noise about wanting to see the ladies of Japanese punk band Otoboke Beaver next week at SXSW, and that sentiment remains pure and good, but i'm also going to be really made at myself if i don't also see the ladies of Japanese (INSERT GENRE HERE) band CHAI.  I don't know what to make of them, but i know i have to see them.  Watch the bonkers video for "GREAT JOB" below and get the "Punk" LP from Burger Records next Friday.

Sufis

"After Hours" is the third release from Brooklyn by way of Nashville band Sufis.  The band has kind of a breezy, psych and Americana nodding groove, hearkening back to eras long past, like and AM radio version of The Velvet Underground.  Listen to "Another Way (71)" below and get the album from Burger Records.

Trementina

Hailing from Chile, shoegazey pop three-piece Trementina make beautiful music that sounds like dreamy odes to neverending skies and the greater cosmos.  Listen to the delightful "Please, Let's Go Away" below and get the band's latest opus, "810," from Burger Records.

Pink Mexico

Still cycling through music from band's i wish i'd had a chance to check out during SXSW.  The latest is Brooklyn garage/punk rock band Pink Mexico.  Raucous, buzzy, fuzzy, surf-psych for the masses.  Listen to "Forgetting Everything" below and grab last year's "Fool" LP here in various formats via Burger Records and Big Tomato Records.

Gap Dream

California band Gap Dream have a hazy new jam, "Strong Love," out on a split 7" with Part Time on Burger Records.  It's a dreamy and summery, a poolside song for these long August days.  Listen below.

California's Cosmonauts craft garage/surf jams for the beach going set.  Take a listen to the smooth "Shaker" below from the band's forthcoming "Persona Non Grata" LP out next month on Burger Records.  It sounds like something that would play during slow motion video footage of surfers.  Perfect summertime listening.
