Detroit rapper Danny Brown has been at it for a long while now, and has new album "Stardust" heading our way in November.  The title track is weird and frenetic and full on glitchy electro hip-hop.  Check it out below and pre-order the LP here from Warp.

IDLES & Danny Brown

One of my favorite songs of the year gets an upgrade as rapper Danny Brown joins Bristol band IDLES on a new version of their track "POP POP POP."  It rules.  Check it out below and download it here from Partisan Records.  Now i want a whole album from these two.

Detroit rapper Danny Brown already dropped and wonderfully weird collaboration with JPEGMAFIA earlier this year, reportedly because his own new solo album was tied up in record label limbo.  That all seems to have sorted itself out now with the upcoming release of "Quaranta."  Around these parts, we are firm believers in the more Danny Brown the better, so check out new tune "Tantor" below and pre-order the record here from Warp.

JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown already released one of my favorite records of the year with the frenetic "Scaring the Hoes," and now the duo are back with a handful of tracks that didn't make it onto the album with new EP "Scaring the Hoes: DLC Pack."  Check out the appropriately titled album opener "Guess What Bitch, We Back Hoe!" below and pay what you want for the EP download here.

An upcoming release that escaped my attention last week during SXSW is the collaboration between two of the more unique voices in hip-hop, JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown.  This is most welcome news.  "Scaring the Hoes" drops tomorrow on streaming and digital platforms.  Pre-order the vinyl and a bunch of other merch here from the artists and watch the video for the weird and banging title track below.

Paul White, the UK psych-tinged producer behind much of Danny Brown's "Atrocity Exhibition," one of my favorite albums of 2016, just released a 30 minute mix of beats and music that's a trippy mix of everything under the sun called "Everything You've Forgotten."  Listen to the whole thing below and grab it here.

Danny Brown's stuff has a tendency to disorient me, like some kind of sonic methamphetamine straight to the noggin, or spinning in a circle until the world blurs.  New album "Atrocity Exhibition" is stacking up to be quite an incredible release, and this new jam, "Really Doe," featuring Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Earl Sweatshirt is a total cherry on the whole thing.  Listen below and get the new record from Warp on September 30th.

The Avalanches - Frankie Sinatra

It's been 16 long years since last we heard from the Australian DJ wunderkinds of The Avalanches, with many rumors and missed release dates behind us, but at last the group's sophomore effort, "Wildflower," is coming out next month.  The first bonkers single, "Frankie Sinatra," features vocal assists from Danny Brown and MF DOOM, and is accompanied by a fittingly bonkers video.  Watch it below and pre-order the record in various forms from Newbury Comics/Astralwerks.

Danny Brown - ODB video

Detroit weirdo/rapper Danny Brown's new album "Old" is due out later this month on Fool's Gold.  In the meanwhile, watch the video for the aptly titled "ODB" below.  The disorienting jam is exactly what i assume the inside of Ol' Dirty Bastard's head was like.
