Roy Montgomery

In 2021, experimental and ambient artist Roy Montgomery lost his partner of 20 years and mother of his two children to cancer.  Next month, the artist will release a new double album of instrumental music inspired by and dedicated to Kerry McCarthy.  As you can imagine, "Camera Melancholia" will probably be simultaneously uplifting and devastating.  Listen to "Aura of the Afterlife 1" below and pre-order the album here from Grapefruit.

Roy Montgomery featuring Liz Harris

New Zealand guitarist and composer Roy Montgomery has been making music for a while now (he is pushing 60 after all), and the artist has a new album, "Suffuse," headed our way in the very near future (August!) which features a whole slew of guest vocalists (stemming from Montgomery's distaste for his own voice).  Guests include Julanna Barwick, Purple Pilgrims, and Circuit Des Yeux's Haley Fohr among others.  And our first taste of the record features gorgeous vocals from Liz Harris, whom you may otherwise know as Grouper.  Listen to "Landfall" below and pre-order the album here from Grapefruit Records.
