Lingua Ignota Covers Chris Isaak

With all the horniness in the air yesterday because of that Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion video, it was easy to miss things like the surprise Krallice album or this absolutely haunting rendition of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" from experimental metal and noise artist Lingua Ignota.  This version lays operatic vocals over soft piano and a warped sample of Krzysztof Penderecki's "Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima."  It also features some backing vocals from Daughters' Alexis Marshall.  It's awesome.  Check it out below and get it here.

Lingua Ignota - O Ruthless Great Divine Director

I really don't know how to define the music or experimental artist Lingua Ignota.  At times she's damn near operatic, and at others she creates a cacophony of hysteric and terrifying noise.  It's wonderful.  Anyway, she released a new track yesterday, the haunting and sneering "O Ruthless Great Divine Director."  You should definitely listen to it below and then grab it here via Sargent House.

Sightless Pit

The Body remixed by Lingua Ignota

New music from experimental metal duo The Body is always good news around these parts, even if said new music comes in remix form.  The band has an album of remixes and reinterpretations heading our way in October, titled appropriately enough "Remixed."  Check out Lingua Ignota's fairly somber mix of "Hallow/Hollow" from 2016's "No One Deserves Happiness" below and pre-order the record here from Thrill Jockey.

Experimental noise artist LINGUA IGNOTA has a real talent in making music that's equal parts jarring, terrifying, and mesmerizing.  And she's got a new album headed our way in July, that if the first single is any indication, is going to be an absolute beast of a record.  Check out "Butcher of the World," an intense and creeping mix of noise, metal, opera, and classical music.  The artist screams and wails into the abyss alongside bits of crusty drone and tape loop and segments of Henry Purcell's "Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary" (also known as the theme from "A Clockwork Orange"), before fading away into haunting sung vocals, an eerie reprieve from what's to come.  Listen below and pre-order the "Caligula" LP here from Profound Lore.
