Brooklyn band Parquet Courts have a new album heading our way in October, and this time around the band is bringing in some dance vibes to pair with their particular brand of post punk.  Citing influences like Talking Heads and Primal Scream, "Sympathy for Life" feels like it's going to be a party in a time when we desperately need one.  Check out first single "Walking at a Downtown Pace," on which the Primal Scream influence is particularly evident, below and pre-order the album here from Rough Trade.

Composer Daniele Luppi has a new collaborative album called "Milano" coming out in October, much in the same vein as his 2011 Danger Mouse/Jack White/Norah Jones project "Rome."  The new record feature New York post punk band Parquet Courts and Karen O, and should be interesting.  Listen to the cinematic "Soul and Cigarette" below and get the album from 30th Century Records.

First off, let me say what a delight it is to type the phrase "Parquet Courts featuring Bun B." Secondly, let me say how awesome the collaboration between the post punk band and the Texas rap legend is.  Reworking the track "Captive to the Sun," originally from the band's "Human Performance" LP, but with Bun B offering up his own verse, it all works amazingly well together.
