Daily Jam - Train of Consequences

I used to get the opening riff to Megadeth's "Train of Consequences" stuck in my head all the time.  And in my best Ralph Wiggum voice: "i like how it sounds like a train."  Anyhoo, check it out below, our Daily Jam.

Devil Master

Oh hell yeah, September is bringing us new music from Philly band Devil Master, and they'll have plenty of lo-fi thrash metal riffs and evil noise coming with them.  Check out new shredder "You Worms' Vain Delusions" below and pre-order the forthcoming "Bloody Dreams" here from Relapse Records.

Daily Jam - ...And Justice for All

The opening minute to Metallica's "...And Justice for All" often pops into my head, pretty much at any given moment.  I guess it's one of those little bits of music that wormed its way into my inner psyche and just permanently moved in.  And that's okay because it's awesome.  And so is the rest of the song.  Listen below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Master of Puppets

I've got to give it up for season four of "Stranger Things."  Aside from really enjoying this new season, it's also made my 9-year old a fan of both Kate Bush and Metallica.  He refers to this one as "Eddie's Song."  Anyway, here's "Master of Puppets," our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - Raining Blood

A few years back, i caught a performance from Dead Cross, the supergroup featuring Mike Patton and Slayer's Dave Lombardo.  And during the encore, they started to play the opening to Slayer's "Raining Blood."  The crowd when fucking crazy.  And then the band stopped and said "Just kidding," and then played a different song, took a bow, and left the stage.  It was pretty goddamn funny.  Anyway, here's "Raining Blood" for real, our Daily Jam.

Mr. Bungle

In 1986, high school band Mr. Bungle recorded "The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo," a thrash metal arrival of sorts.  In 2020, newly reunited Mr. Bungle re-recorded "The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo," another thrash metal arrival of sorts.  The new recording features assists from Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo, and includes some songs written 35 years ago that were never recorded.  I was super busy with work yesterday and missed the album's announcement, and it seems that the most of the physical pre-orders of it have already sold out.  Boo.  I was able to hopefully procure a copy through a local record store in Austin, and i'd recommend you try the same if this sort of thing is your bag.  Anyway, listen to "Raping Your Mind" below and look for the record from Ipecac.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have made something like 15 albums in the last 6 or 7 years, one of which came out a couple months ago.  And now they've already lined up another with the forthcoming "Infest the Rats' Nest."  This time around though, their shedding a lot of the psych and pop and folk they've utilized over the years for something a little more...thrash metal.  And brothers and sisters, it works.  Watch the video for "Self-Immolate" below and get the record in August on Flightless/ATO.

Daily Jam - Poison My Eyes

So, the Schwarzenegger movie "Last Action Hero" is a fascinating mess of thing that i don't really need to go into here.  And then there's the soundtrack.  Another fascinating mess full of '90s mainstays, last gasps, and Fishbone.  Anyway, it's a weird time capsule kind of mix of stuff, with a couple of genuine gems.  One of those is "Poison My Eyes" from Anthrax.  Admittedly i'm no expert on the long running New York metal band, but this track has always stuck out for me.  Listen below, your Daily Jam.
