Jenny Hval

Zonal

Justin Broadrick (of Jesu, Godflesh and more) and Kevin Martin (of The Bug) have joined forces for a new collaborative project called Zonal.  Dubby, droney, noisy, unsettling, and spooky, the duo have created a slow and low menacing kind of sound.  Listen to "Cage Version" below, download it and another track here, and be on the lookout for a full-length album sometime in the future on Relapse.

Daily Jam - Territorial Pissings

In a few hours i'll be making my way towards Washington for a long weekend of old friends and breweries.  So, i figured the next four songs on this Daily Jam thing i've been doing should come from the "big 4," if you will, of the '90s Seattle grunge explosion.  Of course i'm going to start with Nirvana.  All these years later, and they're still one of my favorites.  Here's "Territorial Pissings" from "Nevermind," your Daily Jam.

MOLLY

It seems like it's been a hot minute since i last heard from or thought of Austrian shoegaze duo MOLLY.  And now that's remedied, as the band just released new album, "All That Ever Could Have Been."  Check out the epic and post rock indebted opening track "Coming of Age" below and get the album here from Sonic Cathedral.

Experimental noise artist Pharmakon has a new album of abrasive, stomach-churning sound headed our way at summer's end called "Devour."  It's about self-cannibalism because of course it is.  Anyway, check out the first taste of the record, "Self Regulating System," below and pre-order it here from Sacred Bones.

Ancient Pools
