Tess Roby

Montreal artist Tess Roby is back with a gorgeous new dreampop track called "Ideas of Space."  Her new album of same name is out in April.  Pre-order it here and listen to the song below.

Erasers

Here's some very cool, droney and minimalist music from Perth, Australia's Erasers.  The duo blend elements of kosmische psychedelia and post punk for a earthy sound that oozes and intoxicates.  Check out "Constant Connection" below and pre-order the upcoming album of same name here from Fire Talk.

Daily Jam (Covers Week) - Rainy Days and Mondays

Still one of the best tribute albums ever made with '90s alt-rock bands covering the songs of The Carpenters, the "If I Were a Carpenter" compilation stands as a sonic monument to one particular moment in time.  I love it.  Check out Cracker's rendition of "Rainy Days and Mondays" below, our Daily Jam.

Earl Sweatshirt

I somehow missed Earl Sweatshirt's new album "SICK!" from a month ago.  Upon listening, um...it's sick.  Check out the swirling beat of "2010" below and download the album here.

UPDATE:

I'm not sure what happened, but the album is no longer available on Bandcamp, so here's a new link to Earl's site to download the record.  In the meanwhile, watch the video for "2010" below.

Shamir

Las Vegas based artist Shamir continues to evolve and expand his sound with each new release.  I first caught him a few years ago at Fun Fun Fun Fest touring his debut album "Ratchet," a fun collection of hard-to-pin-down dance pop numbers and R&B.  He was young, excited, delightful, and maybe a little overwhelmed by it all.  Since then, i caught the artist again at SXSW when he began adding a little country and western flavor into his mix, and his output has remained both eclectic and prolific ever since.  Upcoming new album "Heterosexuality" drops this Friday, and finds the artist dabbling in industrial production and '90s alt-rock, and tackling themes of queerness and identity.  Check out "Cisgender" below and pre-order the album here from AntiFragile Music.

ICICLE

I'm a big fan of the lo-fi black metal stylings of MOONKNIGHT, and while it seems like it's been a spell since we last got new music from them, they recently recorded some new tunes under the moniker of ICICLE, feeling the songs were not the right fit for their primary project.  And so we have the "Demo #1" EP and some lo-fi, black metal-tinged, shoegaze jams.  Check out "November Light" below and get the cassette here from Rising Beast.

C Z A R I N A

Spain-based American artist C Z A R I N A blends goth, techno, darkwave synth, industrial, pop, and maybe just a little heavy metal into her music.  Dark and moody jams that are just as easy to mope to as they are to dance to.  Check out "Medusa" below and pre-order the upcoming "Arcana" album here from darkTunes.

David Galas

Michigan based artist David Galas counts himself as a member of the long running darkwave band Lycia.  Earlier this month, he dropped a new solo effort called "October Rising," a collection of icy, gothy, industrial-tinged darkwave.  Check out the title track below and download the album here.

WestSide Gunn

Speaking of sold out vinyl, WestSide Gunn just dropped new album/mixtape "Hitler Wears Hermes 8 (side B)," and is the case for pretty much every single release associated with Buffalo rap group Griselda, it seemingly sold out in seconds.  Good for him.  Anyway, also like most Griselda-associated releases, it's really damn good.  Check out the Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher assisted "Hell on Earth Pt 2" below and listen to the whole album here via Daupe.

Project Lazarus

Russian electronic artist Project Lazarus makes throwback music that feels like it should be soundtracking cold war era footage of Soviet space launches, military propaganda, and frozen Siberian tundra.  It rules.  Check out "Прощай Земля" below and pay what you want for the new "Учитесь Защищать Родину!" album here from VILL4IN.  Sadly the vinyl is already sold out MTHRBORD.
