I love that by the late '80s, UK synth pop band Talk Talk morphed into an experimental post rock band. After singles like "It's My Life" and "Talk Talk," literally nobody saw that coming. Phenomenal. Anyway, here's a track from that later era, 1988's "I Believe in You," our Daily Jam.

For some inexplicable reason, 2022 is the year that i'm finally hearing '90s English duo Plone. Their sound is one that fits right in with Air or Stereolab or early Broadcast, and i'm absolutely flummoxed that it took me 23 years to finally hear the band's "For Beginner Piano" LP. Just stunned. We all dropped the ball on this one guys. Anyway, here's "Top and Low Rent" from that album, one of many songs i'm having to catch up on, and our Daily Jam.
Brighton's Hattie Cooke makes a kind of dreamy, soothing pop, moving back and forth between synth and folkier numbers. Her self-titled album is out next week. Get it here and listen to "Shut Your Mouth" below.
UK synth artist Pye Corner Audio is set to release a new album this summer. "Let's Emerge!" hits in July via Sonic Cathedral and features an assist from Ride's Andy Bell. There's a whole lot of stuff that came out in the '90s that never got a vinyl release. The times being what they were, that's really not surprising at all. I'm a total vinyl-head now, but back then it was all about the CD's. Anyway, a lot of those albums have finally been given the vinyl reissue treatment over the last couple of years, including the discography of Dallas alt-rock band Tripping Daisy. The psych pop tinged sunshine weirdos never really got the national attention they deserved, but they are beloved here in the Lone Star State. Their debut album "Bill" will see its vinyl release sometime next year (delayed due to plant pressing issues), and i'll be patiently waiting for it.
