Daily Jam - Full Crescent Crusade

Very often i find myself going back to the music i listened to as a teenager in high school or college, when i would go to a music store and come back home with a dozen used CDs, stacks of now gone, but not forgotten artists.  New York band Antarctica is one of those artists, releasing an LP and EP of shoegazey post rock in the late '90s before calling it quits.  Any of you boutique record labels out there want to get to work reissuing these, it would be appreciated.  Anyway, here's "Full Crescent Crusade," our Daily Jam.

Acid Rooster

If you're finding yourself in a mind-melting, brain-frying kind of mood this morning, might i direct you towards the interstellar sounds of German band Acid Rooster.  I must admit i checked them out initially because their name is Acid Rooster.  I mean, name yourself Acid Rooster and you've already piqued my interest.  Anyway, the band's got space rock, psychedelic, krautrock thing going on, and it's wonderful.  Check out "Stereofuzz" below and order the "Irrlichter" album here.

RIP Tawny Kitaen

Actress and media personality Tawny Kitaen passed away yesterday at the age of 59.  Like a lot of you, i'll always remember those Whitesnake videos, but i also love the cheesy and bizarre '80s movies she popped up in during her career.  RIP Tawny Kitaen.

Wavves

Man, i haven't though about LA's Wavves in a long stretch.  There was a brief period of time 12-13 years ago when i thought they were the coolest, noisest thing since sliced bread.  And while they're not nearly as ear-bleedingly noisy as they used to be, they can still churn out a cool pop tune.  Check out "Help Is on the Way" below and pre-order this summer's "Hideaway" LP here from Fat Possum.
