Back when Sigur Ros broke through in the states, it opened the doors for some other Icelandic bands to try and make a little noise too. One of those was the experimental electronic band Múm, whose haunting 2000 track "The Ballad of the Broken Birdie Records" sounded like uncovering some kind of alternate fairy universe, delicate, beautiful, and maybe a little sinister just beneath the surface.
