Daily Jam - Beware

Death Grips' whole discography goes pretty hard, and kickstarting the whole thing off with an unsettling Charlie Manson sample really set the tone.  Hooked me instantly at least.  Anyway, here's "Beware" with said sample, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - I've Seen Footage

This has been in my head since i woke up this morning, the frenetic "I've Seen Footage," from Death Grips' 2012 album "The Money Store."

The I.L.Y's - I Love You Man

Zach Hill's Death Grips side project The I.L.Y's are set to release their third album "Bodyguard" in June, this time with a physical release via John Dwyer's Castle Face Records.  Listen to the psych and garage tinged "I Love You Man" below.

Death Grips - Bottomless Pit

Albums are popping up all over the place this week.  "Bottomless Pit," the latest noisy, schizo-electronic, rap record from the unpredictable Death Grips is streaming now, and you can do so below.  Hazaa!

Death Grips - Hot Head

Hey!  Some new Death Grips.  "Hot Head" is an aggressive electro-punk cacophony.  And while it's pretty much what we've come to expect from a group that constantly defies expectations, it's a crazy, noisy, head-slamming jam all the same.  Listen below.

The I.L.Y.'s

I've got to be honest that i've reached the point where Death Grips shenanigans no longer interest me, as they seem to be unending...forever and ever and ever.  That being said, the music keeps me glued to their trolling bullshit nonetheless.  The latest is an album the band made available for download on their twitter page by an entity known as The I.L.Y.'s.  Speculation as to what this is has been abundant online, but the general consensus seems to be that it is a side project with drummer Zach Hill on vocals.  I buy that.  And you know what?  It's pretty damn good.  Stream the entire "I've Always Been Good at True Love" album below and download it here.

Death Grips - Fashion Week

I don't even know what to say anymore.  The purportedly broken up Death Grips, who still have a double album due out later this year, just released an instrumental record here called "Fashion Week."  Seriously, i feel like these guys' entire career is some kind of twisted joke meant to get overeager music writers to jump the shark.  Stream the album below.

Apparently Death Grips broke up...

So, apparently again, i will not be seeing Death Grips at Fun Fun Fun Fest, as the duo have broken up.  I suppose it should really come as no surprise.  Hell, this might all be some sort of extended performance art bullshit the group seems to trade in.  There's the break-up note above.  Oh well.  C'est la vie!

Death Grips - Niggas on the Moon

If you haven't been paying attention to the controversy courting, penis album cover making, free music releasing, genre defying punk-noise-techno-rap mesh-up machine that is Death Grips for the last few years, then shame on you.  The duo have a new double album called "The Powers that B" coming out later in the year on Harvest/Third Worlds Records, and have opted to release the first have of it, called "Niggas on the Moon" for free download.  Get it here and listen to first track "Up My Sleeves" below.

And Bjork is all over the thing too.  Her vocals, sampled or otherwise, appear on all eight tracks.

Death Grips - Government Plates

Though their constant cancelling of dates and festival appearances (Fun Fun Fun Fest in particular for me at least) is irksome, i am consistently blown away by every release from noise-rap group Death Grips.  The duo just put their latest album "Government Plates" up online for free download yesterday, and it's, for lack of a better word, intense.  Sped up techno beats bleeding into the red while hollered vocals pummel you to a pulp.  Listen to "Feels like a Wheel" below and get the album here.

Death Grips - Birds

If you're not listening to Death Grips, you're missing out on one of the most interesting and controversial artists of the last several years.  An awesome and warped mix of hip-hop, punk, metal, and a basic "fuck you" indifference to everything, the group seem to constantly be making waves both musically (their albums are mind blowing) and by stirring the pot (dicks on album covers, public feuding with record labels, skipping festivals, performance art, etc.).  Supposedly, there is a new record in the works, an upcoming Fun Fun Fun Fest appearance (fingers crossed), and a new track, "Birds," that slipped in from the ether earlier today.  Take a listen and download below.

(And for the record, anything that involves Zach Hill is worthy of your attention.)
