The ever prolific and ongoing John Dwyer project Osees (Thee Oh Sees, OCS, etc.) dropped a surprise new album on Friday with "Off Course."  Dig on the trippy album closer "The Brute on His Knees" below and grab the LP here.

OSEES

Not to be outdone by their Aussie brethren, John Dwyer's long-running band OSEES (of Thee Oh Sees, or OCS, etc.) just released their umpteenth new album with "SORCS 80."  This one leans pretty hard into garage punk, nervous and frenetic energy everywhere.  Check out "Cassius, Brutus & Judas" below and get the album here from the band.

Witch Egg

Thee Oh Sees' John Dwyer has a new project coming out in January because of course he does.  The man does not rest.  The man does not stop.  It seems the project may or may not be called Witch Egg.  It's the name of the record at the very least and features Nick Murray, Brad Caulkins, Tom Dolas, and Greg Coates, and going by first taste "Greener Pools," it's a mix of psych, prog, and jazz.  Good stuff.  Listen below, pre-order the digital release here, and be on the lookout for some vinyl from Castle Face.

Oh Sees - Overthrown

I know it's hard to believe this, but John Dwyer has a new Oh Sees record heading our way in the near future.  Considering he seems to average at least two records a year, and it's almost June, i guess he's fallen a little behind.  Anyway, listen to "Overthrown" below, and kinetic, frenetic burst of noisy psych-prog (prog-psych?) to herald the arrival of the upcoming "Smote Reverser" LP.  Download it here and dig on that Lovecraftian apocalypse album art.

OCS - Memory of a Cut Off Head

Remember last week Thee Oh Sees, now known as just Oh Sees, released their 19th album "Orc?"  Yeah.  It was pretty awesome.  Well, the band has already announced a follow up album...and another name change.  November's "Memory of a Cut Off Head" finds that band going back to the original moniker used on their first release, just plain old OCS.  The album also marks a whole slew of anniversaries, the band's 20th release, their 20th year, and John Dwyer's Castle Face Records' 100th release.  May the celebration boogie begin.  Listen to the title track below and be sure to get the record in November.

Oh Sees

John Dwyer and Co. have changed their name from Thee Oh Sees to just Oh Sees.  This isn't the first time the band's name has changed.  I remember way back when they were called OCS.  Anyway, it's going to the throw me off a little, but the ever prolific artist will be releasing his first album under the new moniker in August on Castle Face.  Listen to the frenetic "The Static God" below and be sure to snag the "Orc" LP when it's available.

Damaged Bug - Rubber Lips

Thee Oh Sees - Live in San Francisco

Bay area garage rock band Thee Oh Sees are easily one of the best live touring bands in the country.  I've probably seen them a dozen times in the last five or six years, and i am blown away by their energy every single time.  So, it's pretty damn awesome that main man John Dwyer's Castle Face Records just released a live album of the band on the label's increasingly awesome "Live in San Francisco" series.  It does not disappoint.  Listen to "Web" below and get the record here.

Thee Oh Sees

Hey everybody!  Because we've all be good, and because John Dwyer is pretty damn prolific, we've got a new album from Thee Oh Sees coming out next week on Dwyer's own Castle Face Records.  Listen to the subdued trek through the psychedelic swamp that is "Sticky Hulks" below and grab "Mutilator Defeated at Last" on Tuesday.

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard

Melbourne, Australia's zany, sun and drug fried garage psych bank King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard make music to spazz out to, music to slam cheap beer to, smoke copious amounts of drugs to, and dehydrate and bleach yourself in the sun to.  It's like some crazy, go-go dancer's dream world, and we're all invited.  New album "I'm in Your Mind Fuzz" will be out in November of Thee Oh Sees frontman John Dwyer's Castle Face Records.  Listen to "Cellophane" below.
