Guerilla Toss

Here's a new track from New York's noisy psychedelic punk band Guerilla Toss.  "Psychosis Is Just a Number" was produced by Stephen Malkmus and mixed by Jorge Elbrecht, and it's a wild and frenetic trip.  Listen below and download it here from Sub Pop.

Hatchie

Australian dreampop artist Hatchie just dropped a new track called "Nosedive."  The song was co-written by Jorge Elbrecht and sounds like some industrial and shoegaze tinged alt-pop that could have come out in the '90s.  Check it out below and download it here from Secretly Canadian.

Winter

Last year, LA artist Winter released a lovely album of shoegaze-tinged dreampop with here "Endless Space (Between You and I)" LP, and now she's back with a new single "Violet Blue."  This time around she's teamed up with the enigmatic Jorge Elbrecht behind the boards.  Check the tune out below and get it here via Bar/None Records.

Jorge Elbrecht featuring Ariel Pink

Jorge Elbrecht makes all kinds of music, from psychedelic to darkwave synth pop to black metal.  He collaborates with a lot of other artists as well, and his upcoming new 7" he pairs with Ariel Pink on the A-Side for a noisy blast of industrial-tinged mayhem.  Listen to "Traces of Death" below and get the "Gloss Coma 003" record here.

Geranium

The ever prolific Jorge Elbrecht has a new record heading our way in December.  And "Gloss Coma - 002" features guests like Sky Ferreira and Drab Majesty.  For the time being, check out the opening track, "A Mask in the Ash," a synthy, horror-laden little piece of death pop, and pre-order the record here.

Sky Ferreira - Downhill Lullaby

I was a big fan of Sky Ferreira's 2013 debut album "Night Time, My Time," and its mix of pop, rock, light, and darkness, but she's been kind of elusive ever since then, tumultuous relationships both personal and professional and whatnot.  I think the last i saw anything of her was when she appeared in an episode of "Twin Peaks: The Return" back in 2017.  Anyway, she's prepping a sophomore release, "Masochism," a record she's been teasing for years, and we've got our first taste.  "Downhill Lullaby" is a beautiful and kind of ominous swirl of strings and sound featuring production from Jorge Elbrecht and Dean Hurley (of David Lynch sound design fame).  It's great and has me legit pumped for the new record to be released...sometime.  Listen below.

Jorge Elbrecht - Coral Cross

Jorge Elbrecht has been making music for years in various forms (Lansing-Dreiden, Violens, etc.), and it runs the gauntlet from dreampop to new wave to industrial.  His latest, which is either under the moniker of or titled Coral Cross does all of that with some added metal elements as well.  Listen to "Emerald Gasp" below and pre-order the upcoming "Coral Cross - 002" LP here from the artist.

Jorge Elbrecht feat. Tamaryn

Jorge Elbrecht has been a fairly prolific artist over the years, releasing music under a myriad of different monikers.  On his new album, "Here Lies," the artist appears to be combining them all into one grand and epic statement.  Check out the Tamaryn assisted title track below and pre-order the record in February here.

Coral Cross

Coral Cross is the metal-ish project of Jorge Elbrecht (formerly of Lansing-Dreiden)...and...goddamn, it's pretty rad.  "The Coldest Steel Across Your Face Slides" ebbs and flows, trading in periods of guitar bombast for quieter and proggier moments that give the track an ethereal vibe.  It's really good, and i hope more is on the horizon.  In the meantime, you can get the 7" from Mexican Summer.

Jorge Elbrose

One of the coolest record labels to surface in the last few years is Mexican Summer, and to celebrate their 5 year anniversary, the label is releasing a coffee table book with pictures, notes, etc. along with a 10" of collaborative efforts from Mexican Summer artists.  One of those is Jorge Elbrose (Jorge Elbrecht and Ariel Pink).  The duo put out an excellent 7" earlier this year, and hopefully this new jam is a sign of some future recordings in the future.  Listen to the crunchy, warped, sun burnt indie pop of  "Called to Ring" below and grab the book/10" record here.

Jorge Elbrecht & Caroline Polachek

Jorge Elbrecht (currently of Violens) is having a pretty stellar year thanks to the folks at Mexican Summer.  His old band Lansing-Dreiden got the loving reissue treatment from the label, he recorded a 7" with Ariel Pink, and now he's go a new single with Chairlift's Caroline Palochek.  "I.V. Aided Dreams" is percussion and noise, loops and echoes, and is currently available as a digital single, but you can watch the performance-art-like video below.  Hooray!
