Les Cyclades

Every now and then i find a song that just seems to completely catch my mood at the moment, and today, while looking out the window at the currently gray skies of Central Texas, that song is "Yser Mystère" by Belgian artist Les Cyclades.  The song is dreamy and noirish mix of ambient music, electronica, exotica, new age, Balearic dreampop, and jazz.  And at this moment, it just feels right.  Check the track out below and grab the new "Glika" LP here from Hi Scores.

Hybrid Man

Here's some cool new electronic music from Australian duo Hybrid Man that combines elements of psychedelia and balearic dreampop into the mix.  In some ways it sounds like staring into the sun, and in others like the backdrop to a planetarium but with a groove.  Check out "Eternal Nightglow" below and pre-order the "Dust and Liquid" LP here from Wax'o Paradiso.

The Utopia Strong

Listening to "Shepherdess," the first single from UK band The Utopia Strong's upcoming "International Treasure" LP, feels akin to meditating at the top of a cliff in the Mediterranean somewhere, overlooking the sea, the sounds of the ocean and the wind around you, sun on your face, clouds moving by.  It's a kind of soothing Balearic kosmische psychedelia for expanding minds and purifying bodies.  You new age types are gonna love it.  Check the track out below and pre-order the record here from Rocket Recordings.
