Old Moon

Next month brings us new music from New Hampshire bedroom pop artist Old Moon.  On "Cities of the Plain," the artist combines elements of shoegaze, dreampop, jangle pop, and post punk into a lo-fi haze, the perfect kind of fuzz to start a new season to.  Check out "Soma" below and pre-order the record here.

Daily Jam - Midnight Cowboy

Here's Martin Denny's exotic moog interpretation of John Barry's theme from "Midnight Cowboy" just because.  Listen below, our Daily Jam.

HTRK

Melbourne duo HTRK make subdued and moody, mostly acoustic pop, folk, and alt-rock.  They just recently released "Death Is a Dream," a new collection of odds and ends that were recorded during the sessions for last year's "Rhinestones" LP.  There's a dreamy, dusty, and haunting vibe to these songs, maybe most evident on "Valentina (Cali Highway Version)."  It's like driving at night, getting lost in the rolling hills and your own thoughts.  Check it out below and get the whole thing here.

Daily Jam - Love Remains

It feels kind of weird to be posting about anything right now after last evening's devastating news from the Supreme Court.  I've been having a hard time getting my thoughts in order around everything.  It's all just a mixture of anger and hopelessness.  And goddamnit, i'm tired of having to feel this way every few weeks.  It's just one thing after another, and endless procession of horrible, evil bullshit propagated by the worst people in the world, smiling and waving after each crushing blow.  Anger and hopelessness.  We live in a Christo-fascist state.  I don't know what else to say at the moment, so here's a track from Mansun's never completed, self-titled fourth album that eventually made its way to our ears as 3-disc collection called "Kleptomania."  Listen to "Love Remains" below, our Daily Jam.

Daily Jam - You've Never Lived a Day

Holy moly, have i been busy today.  It's damn near four o'clock, and i'm only just now getting a chance to blog a couple of songs.  Anyway, here's a wonderful song from the gone-but-not-forgotten Texas band Sound Team.  Check out "You've Never Lived a Day" below, our Daily Jam.

Ivy Wye

Here's some throwback folk from Canadian artist Ivy Wye.  Gentle, retro sounds abound, the tracks from "Hope's Convenience" feeling like they could have arisen from the ether 50 years ago.  Check out the title track below and download the album here.

Michael Rault

Canadian troubadour Michael Rault has a new album of psych pop gems heading our way this summer with his new self-titled album.  Check out the sweet bubblegum sounds of "Neither Love Nor Money" below and pre-order the record here from Daptone.

Daily Jam - These Days Are Filled with You

Here's some cool and slinky jazz from Monk Higgins on what is a damp and humid day here in Central Texas.  I've been listening to this one quite a lot of late and cannot get enough of that soul and psych-tinged organ in the background.  Check out "These Days Are Filled with You" below, our Daily Jam.
