Daily Jam - Sad But True

Metallica's self-titled fifth album, "The Black Album," gets a lot of derision from a lot of metal fans.  I was pretty much immune to it at the time because i was 12, the perfect age to think that the record rules.  But i get it now, especially when comparing the album to its forebears.  That being said, "Sad But True" wails.  Listen below, our Daily Jam.

SOFTSUN

Here's some heavy, dreamy, and droney music from California based SOFTSUN.  Desert and tundra soundscapes collide on the recently released "Daylight in the Dark" LP.  Grab a copy of it here from the band and listen to the shoegaze and doom-laden album opener "Unholy Waters" below.

Dead Neanderthals

Yesterday, Dutch band Dead Neanderthals dropped new album "Other Worlds."  It's full of pulsing, krautrock-infused synth-prog and really is the perfect way to end a year or start a new one.  Listen to "Through the Clouds" below and get the album from the band here.

Daily Jam - Tektur the Water

New York shoegaze band Antarctica only released one album and one EP during their brief tenure in the '90s, but they were both fantastic.  And, they've both been given the vinyl reissue treatment over the last year or so, which is good news for all of us.  Here's a track from their full length "81:03."  Listen to "Tektur the Water" below, our Daily Jam.
