Umberto

We've mentioned Umberto in the past, the side project of Expo 70's Matt Hill, cinematic synth-scapes that sound like the soundtrack to some European horror movie you've only heard of.  His latest album, "Night Has a Thousand Screams," is due from Rock Action in November.  Stuart Braithwaite of the label and the band Mogwai had this to say:

"This year at the Glasgow Film Festival Umberto did a performance along to the film Pieces, a frankly mental video nasty and I was lucky enough to be there. We met after the show and asked if he had any plans to release that music and offered to put it out if he hadn't. This record is the result of these incidents. It's a wonderful record and I'm really proud to be involved in its release."
