My friend Shawn has been raving about New York trio Spotlights' latest opus over at his
blog for the last week, and i finally sat down to give "Love & Decay" a good listen last night, and holy shit is it a beast. A bombast of sound and beauty, the record is equal parts post metal, shoegaze, doom, post rock, and space rock, a heavy swirl of layered guitars atop pummeling drum blasts, crunchy, reverbed riffs, and buried, ethereal vocals that sound heavenly despite the cacophony surrounding them.
