Daily Jam - Spring Hall Convert

Cate Le Bon & Bradford Cox

The annual Marfa Myths music and art festival in Marfa, Texas is something i have not had the benefit of attending yet (much to my dismay), but at least i get to hear some of the fruits of labor every year when Mexican Summer releases the previous fest's collaborative residency.  These are generally pretty awesome, and last year's featured Cate Le Bon and Deerhunter front man Bradford Cox.  Check out "Secretary" from the duo below and get the "Myths 004" record in November.

Deerhunter

Somehow i missed that there's a new Deerhunter record headed our way next month.  Not sure how that flew over my head as the band has been one of the most consistent indie rock bands for over a decade.  Anyway, new album "Why Hasn't Everything Already Disappeared?" drops on January 18th from 4AD.  Pre-order it here and watch the video for the psych-tinged "Death in Midsummer" below.

Deerhunter - Snakeskin video

October is increasingly becoming a month where i may have to take out a loan to procure all the awesome music that's coming out.  So, let's go ahead and add another to the pile, as Deerhunter have announced a new album due on 10/16 on 4AD called "Fading Frontier."  Watch the video for first single "Snakeskin" below.

Deerhunter - Monomania

Deerhunter's new track "Monomania" has been making the rounds the last 24 hours or so, and i find it pretty easy to understand why.  The scratchy title track from the band's upcoming new album is a raucous and swirling affair of crashing cymbals, shrieking guitars, and in-the-red vocals, a noisy revival of Bradford Cox and the band's early punk rock roots.  I love it.  Listen below and be on the lookout for the "Monomania" LP in May from 4AD.

Carnivores

Carnivores are a lo-fi bedroom rock outfit from Atlanta and recently posted new track "Pillow Talk" to their bandcamp page.  It features Bradford Cox of Deerhunter and Atlas Sound fame, and it's a driving, swirling little number that has been bouncing around my skull for the last 24 hours.  Look for the "Second Impulse" LP in June.  Listen below and grab the download here.
