Studio Kosmische

I sometimes think i need to start meditating.  Maybe it could alleviate some of the stress i get from the daily grind of working, parenting, home-ownership, and the impending end of the world.  And i can start with the experimental sounds of Studio Kosmische.  The duo's new album, "Electronic Meditation for Inner Space Travel," features sax from Russian artist Ivan Bursov and travels in the sounds of smooth and funky psychedelia, free form jazz, and new age ambience.  Perfect stuff for locating that inner peace.  Check out "In Search of Magick" below and get the LP here from Dreamlord Recordings.

The Hologram People

It's so hard not to lose yourself in the imaginary lore some artists create for their music, the tales of lost films and film scores found in dusty cannisters in attics or dilapidated old movie studio offices.  I fucking love it.  And the latest comes from UK duo The Hologram People and their "lost" score for pretend '70s Italo-horror flick "Isola Dei Morti Viventi."  The record is full of old electronics, analog synths, cinematic funk, and psychedelia, or the kind of stuff that if it were for real would send record collectors and crate diggers on their latest missions.  Check out "Isola Dei Morti Viventi (Main Theme)" below and cop the LP here from Dreamlord Recordings.
