M83

Yesterday, we got a new song and video from Anthony Gonzalez's long-running synth project M83, along with the announcement of the upcoming "Fantasy" LP in March.  "Oceans Niagara" soars and sweeps with all the cinematic flourishes we've come to expect over the years, feeling wistful and powerful all at once.  Check it out below and pre-order the record here from Mute.

Fever Ray

When we got new music from Fever Ray a couple weeks ago, i wondered if it was an indication of a new record on the way, and it turns out that it was.  "Radical Romantics" comes out in March.  Listen to our second taste of the album with "Carbon Dioxide" below and pre-order the record here from Mute.

Alessandro Cortini

Alessandro Cortini is an Italian artist based in Portugal specializing in synthesizer explorations, dark ambient, and drone.  New album "Scuro Chiaro" just came out last week with sounds and tones that feel like that they're coming in from the farthest reaches of space.  Check out "Chiaroscuro" below, download the album here, and go over to Mute for the vinyl.

M83 - Feelings

M83 has a new album of instrumental tracks out today called "DSVII," the sequel to 2007's "Digital Shades Vol. 1."  I've always been able to dig on M83's music, soaring or otherwise, so this is a pleasant surprise (i just found out about this yesterday).  Check out the video for "Feelings" below, but maybe don't watch this one at work.  There's a lot of phallic stuff going on is what i'm saying.  Then look for the record on Mute.

Lost Under Heaven - Teen Violence

Lost Under Heaven released their sophomore album, "Love Hates What You Become," earlier this year, and today they're back at it again with a new single.  Check out the noisy and poignant "Teen Violence" below.

Liars - Murdrum

Last year, experimental band Liars became a solo project, with Angus Andrew releasing the "TFCF" LP.  And now, he's got a follow-up headed our way.  "Titles with the Word Fountain" is a sister album of sorts, recorded during the same sessions, and our first taste is the cymbal heavy and disorienting "Murdrum."  Listen below (be careful with the video though) and pre-order the album here from Mute.

Lost Under Heaven - Bunny's Blues

Earlier this year we got a new track from the duo of Ellery James Roberts and Ebony Hoorn, otherwise know as Lost Under Heaven (of LUH.), and today we get another new tune, and an announcement of a new record out sometime later this year.  Watch the video for "Bunny's Blues" below, a track featuring Hoorn on lead vocals that starts as a whisper and then ends as something a little harsher than the band normally goes for.
